WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is fast approaching and there could be several big names poised to return on the night in Washington D.C.

With the nation’s capitol is set to play backdrop to John Cena’s final WWE match against GUNTHER, there are several potential returns that could happen at the event as well.

Here are six potential returns at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

6. Chad Gable

One WWE star that could potentially be returning soon is Chad Gable.

After being out of action since June with a shoulder injury, it seems as if Gable’s comeback is nearing, as could be a interesting face-to-face with the new El Grande Americano.

Potentially able to make a big return by facing one of the technically focused members of the NXT roster, Charlie Dempsey or Tavion Heights could be the ideal exhibition opponent for the returning star.

Blending their technical styles to create a wonderful showcase of some of WWE’s best wrestling, it might be the perfect match to host on the night.

5. Randy Orton

With Randy Orton absent from WWE TV since October 2025, it could be that “The Viper” is on the verge of making a return at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Able to go up against the obvious choice from NXT of Myles Borne, Orton could also be set to face off against any number of other opponents.

Potentially facing another multi-generational star in Lexis King or Uriah Connors of Chase U — there are quite a few choices but one stands out above the rest.

In a rematch from their St. Louis battle on NXT, Randy Orton and Je’Von Evans could absolutely steal the show in Washington D.C. ahead of John Cena’s last match.

After being the center of one of the most interesting WWE contract stories of the year, Santos Escobar has yet to make his return to WWE TV.

Briefly entering a period of free agency, Escobar would depart WWE and then re-sign within the span of a day in October 2025 but has yet to make his way back to screens.

Potentially poised for a return at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Escobar could be set to debut a brand new character.

Able to bring his past masked iteration to WWE, it could be the perfect place to launch the latest version of Santos Escobar.

3. Omos

A solid potential exhibition match that may have already been being teased at NXT house shows could see Omos make a big return to WWE.

Taking on NXT star Oba Femi in a showcase of talent, the pair of heavy handed stars could change blows on the very big stage of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

With the show set to host a number of NXT versus main roster stars in exhibition action as well as the final bout for John Cena — it could mark a huge opportunity for Omos to return.

With a rivalry between Omos and Oba Femi seemingly tailormade for the main roster, there could be big things in the future for both stars.

2. Bianca Belair

One major return that could certainly align with the spirit of the night is a re-emergence of children’s fan favorite Bianca Belair.

While perhaps not likely to engage in an in-ring bout against one of the NXT women’s roster for her first match back after WrestleMania 41 — Belair could certainly still make a massive appearance at the event.

With Bayley already set to face Sol Ruca at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Belair could return elsewhere for a face off with former tag team partner Jade Cargill.

Out of action long enough that it would be conceivable that all former feuds could be forgiven, it could be fascinating to see who Belair chooses to target upon her return.

1. Austin Theory

If there is an Austin Theory return in the works, it may be a massive missed opportunity to leave Theory’s interaction with Cena unexplored.

A pivotal moment in his career that sadly didn’t propel Theory to the heights it maybe should have, Theory bested John Cena at WrestleMania 39 but their feud is more often remembered for a scathing in-ring segment between the pair.

With Cena incisively cutting down Theory, his singles push never really recovered and after being joined with Grayson Waller in the A-Town Down Under tag team, he has since disappeared.

With Theory reportedly the secret assailant who appeared at the end of the Survivor Series WarGames match to deliver a stomp to CM Punk — perhaps there is more to be revealed from Austin Theory at Saturday Night’s Main Event, whether with Cena or perhaps another run-in with CM Punk.
