Each year over WrestleMania weekend, WWE handpicks a selection of past stars to be inducted into its Hall of Fame.

These legends are celebrated both during the induction ceremony and at WrestleMania itself, when they’re brought out onto the stage in front of the live crowd.

In 2025, for the first time, WWE took a page from the UFC and began inducting individual matches alongside wrestlers, with the inaugural bout being the iconic ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin vs Bret Hart clash from WrestleMania 13.

With that change in place, here are six potential new inductees for the WWE Hall of Fame in 2026.

6. Stephanie McMahon

The first member of the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame class has already been announced.

At Wrestlepalooza, The Undertaker revealed that Stephanie McMahon will be inducted next year.

McMahon first appeared in an on-screen role during the height of the Attitude Era, in the midst of Vince McMahon’s feud with The Undertaker, and remained a near-constant presence on WWE programming up until recent years.

Stephanie McMahon will become the second member of the McMahon family to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, following her grandfather Vince McMahon Sr, who was inducted in 1996.

5. Chris Jericho

Recent months have seen growing speculation about the possibility of Chris Jericho returning to WWE when his AEW contract expires at the end of the year.

Jericho’s continued absence from AEW programming has only fueled that discussion.

Few would question Jericho’s credentials for WWE’s Hall of Fame – a six-time world champion in the company, a record-setting nine-time Intercontinental Champion, and, of course, the man who defeated both The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin on the same night!

The real question is whether Jericho goes straight into the Hall of Fame in 2026, or if WWE gives him one final big singles run before an induction in 2027.

4. The Hardy Boyz

The Hardy Boyz are another act whose WWE Hall of Fame credentials few would doubt – they are arguably the most iconic WWE tag team of the past two and a half decades.

Nine-time World Tag Team Champions in WWE, their aerial movesets andlegendary  TLC matches helped define a style of wrestling still seen in the promotion today.

The duo, who remain TNA World Tag Team Xhampions, are also firmly back on WWE’s radar – next week on the NXT vs TNA special edition of NXT, they’re set to compete in a title vs title tag bout against DarkState.

It would be no surprise to see the Hardys inducted into the 2026 Hall of Fame – and just as unsurprising to see them make one more run on the main roster.

3. Mickie James

For decades, WWE lagged behind popular culture in the way it treated its women’s performers – presenting female stars as sex objects rather than serious wrestlers.

Even during the “bra and panties” era, however, some women managed to rise above the limitations of the roles they were given.

One of those was Mickie James, who debuted in 2005 and quickly delivered a memorable feud with Trish Stratus that featured arguably the best women’s in-ring work since Alundra Blayze’s rivalry with Bull Nakano in the WWF a decade earlier.

James went on to enjoy a long career in both TNA and WWE, and while the label of “trailblazer” is often overused, she is one who truly lives up to it – making her a strong candidate for the 2026 Hall of Fame.

2. Mick Foley vs. The Undertaker

In the history of WWE, there are few – if any – visuals more iconic than The Undertaker launching Mankind off the top of Hell in a Cell.

Their clash at King of the Ring 1998 is forever etched into the minds of WWF fans of that era, and has been immortalised in virtually every WWE highlight package since.

It’s sometimes forgotten that the match itself involved essentially just two spots: Foley being thrown from the top of the Cell, and then – after climbing back up – being chokeslammed through it.

While it wasn’t a five-star match in the traditional sense, that does little to diminish its historical significance, and there’s no doubt that this bout will be inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame – and it wouldn’t be surprising if that moment comes as soon as 2026.

1. AJ Lee

After a decade away, AJ Lee made her return to WWE in September.

With many thinking the return would never happen, it led to a rapturous reception from the WWE fanbase.

The overwhelming support Lee drew shows how much she meant to a generation of fans who followed WWE through the early to mid-2010s.

A three-time Divas Champion, Lee feels like a certain future Hall of Famer – the only question is whether that honor comes as soon as 2026.
