5 Changes To AEW Dynamite After Double Or Nothing 2025

With AEW Double or Nothing 2025 fast approaching, there will certainly be big changes by the time next week’s AEW Dynamite rolls around on May 28.

With potential title changes, the finals of the Owen Hart Cup tournament and all of the fall out that accompanies an Anarchy in the Arena match – there will be a lot of shifts as AEW Dynamite moves into the Summer.

Here are five changes to AEW Dynamite after Double or Nothing 2025.

5. Ricochet Moves Further Up The Card

Since departing WWE for AEW, Ricochet has gained a new life with a brand new heel character.

Leaving behind the generic babyface Ricochet from WWE – the former Intercontinental Champion has settled in nicely to a role where he is unbelievably irritating and fans love every minute of hating him.

At AEW Double or Nothing 2025 Ricochet is set to take on Mark Briscoe in a Stretcher Match, something that is bound to provide great entertainment to the fans watching in Glendale.

With AEW All In: Texas coming up in July, a win at Double or Nothing should definitely set up a big program for Ricochet.

4. Big Returns Shake-Up Roster

The Anarchy in the Arena match set for Double or Nothing is undoubtedly already stacked – however, it also leaves the perfect opportunity for the return of a few different stars.

Since Jack Perry has been absent, his affiliation with The Elite isn’t concretely known, while Eddie Kingston remains out of action due to injury. However, with some reports suggesting he could be poised to return this Summer – maybe The Mad King pops up during the match.

Elsewhere, Cope was written off of AEW TV after a brutal attack by FTR, but the veteran is reportedly set for a big program at AEW All In: Texas – so perhaps he will return at Double or Nothing.

With FTR set to face off against the duo of Daniel Garcia and Nigel McGuinness, it would seem that the moment is perfect for a return from Cope.

3. New Challengers Emerge For Jon Moxley Before All In: Texas

Jon Moxley’s participation in the Anarchy in the Arena match means he will not be defending his AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing 2025, however there will still be a major development in the future of the title at the event.

The men’s Owen Hart Memorial Foundation tournament final is set to host a thrilling bout between Will Ospreay and Hangman Adam Page, one not only for the tournament victory itself but also the chance to take on Moxley at AEW All In: Texas.

While certainly both offering huge draws for the All In: Texas there are a few looming challenges for Moxley that are yet to be resolved.

With Swerve Strickland gunning for Moxley and the potential future return of Darby Allin – perhaps Moxley’s reign will be under threat more than once before he makes it to All In: Texas.

2. Timeless Toni Storm Vs. Mercedes Mone Program Begins

While the women’s Owen Hart Memorial Cup tournament could go either way, it may be leading to a clash of former WWE stars.

The final will occur at AEW Double or Nothing 2025, with Jamie Hayter taking on Mercedes Mone to determine who will move ahead to face-off the AEW Women’s Champion at AEW All In: Texas.

It would be great to see Jamie Hayter in the match, but it does seem as though the two former WWE stars may be set to headline the division at AEW All In: Texas – an event which may also be going head-to-head with the WWE’s all female PLE, Evolution 2, which is rumored to take place on the same night as AEW’s biggest PPV.

With both women boasting big personalities, the pair could absolutely steal the summer with their performances in the next few months.

1. MJF In The Hurt Syndicate Ends Quickly

AEW stars MJF and Hurt Syndicate member Bobby Lashley

While Bobby Lashley has just given the thumbs up to MJF and granted entrance into the Hurt Syndicate, there was a blip in the budding friendship already.

After MVP approached MJF in a backstage segment, the former AEW World Champion noted that he would be needing his lawyer Mark Sterling to review any documents before making their partnership officially official.

With the Hurt Syndicate set to take on the Sons of Texas (Sammy Guevarra and Dustin Rhodes) for the AEW Tag Team Championship at Double or Nothing 2025 – it seems as though there could be some shenanigans looming.

Possibly including a debut of Cedric Alexander – there are a lot of ways that this alliance might fall apart and fast! Whether MJF turns on the Syndicate or they turn on him – it seems likely that their potential partnership now is headed for an MJF vs. Bobby Lashley singles feud ahead of AEW All In: Texas.
