A WWE star has named a top AEW champion as the inspiration behind their choice of finishing move.
With 2025 marking six years since we last saw Jon Moxley perform in a WWE ring as Dean Ambrose, the current AEW World Champion has been named as a key influence behind Cora Jade’s Double Arm DDT finishing manoeuvre.
Speaking to Before We Get Started Podcast, Jade spoke of her fandom for The Shield growing up, more specifically Ambrose, which led to her deciding to use her own version of his finishing move the ‘Dirty Deeds’ upon beginning her WWE career.
Jade said:
“I always knew I wanted to have this specific finish, just like growing up I would write in my notebook.
“I was a big Shield fan growing up and Dean Ambrose was my favorite, so I was like when I’m a wrestler I’m going to take that finish because he probably won’t be using it by then, and he still is but not here so fair game I said that’s going to be mine.”

Jade saw her match with Jordynne Grace on Tuesday’s NXT cut short prematurely due to referee stoppage, with concern from fans afterwards regarding another potential injury setback for Jade.
While Corey Graves had noted on commentary that Jade’s injury appeared to be related to her right knee, it was later reported that the scare was instead related to a head injury.
We continue to wish Jade the best in her recovery and will provide updates on her condition as more information becomes available.
