A WWE star has now officially been removed from the lineup for the 2026 men’s Royal Rumble lineup with the event taking place tomorrow.
UPDATE: Later during the Royal Rumble Kickoff show, Michael Cole said that GUNTHER is in fact in the Royal Rumble match:
“So GUNTHER you have a unique night tomorrow, you could end the career of AJ Styles and you could go on to win the Royal Rumble match.”
The second man to declare his entry in the Royal Rumble a couple of weeks ago was GUNTHER.
However, shortly after that, AJ Styles challenged GUNTHER to a singles match at the Rumble event.
GUNTHER initially declined that match as he didn’t want to work double duty, but then accepted when Styles put his career on the line.
From that point, WWE didn’t feature GUNTHER on any televised graphics for the Rumble match despite his original declaration, but the official WWE website did list him on the confirmed list of participants.
In a new update today, during the Royal Rumble Kickoff show, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk stated that GUNTHER will not be in the Rumble match.
He said:
“GUNTHER is a big strong tough individual.
“I’m glad that he’s not in the Royal Rumble so he can possibly not beat me up anymore.”
