Two former WWE champions have commented on the possibility of their own children becoming wrestlers in the future.
With multiple WWE championships in the singles and tag team divisions, Matt & Jeff Hardy are currently under contract with TNA Wrestling.
The four-time TNA Wrestling Tag Team Champions have recently addressed the possibility of their own children following in their footsteps.
During an interview with Metro, Matt Hardy revealed that two of his three children are into wrestling, while the third has considered a slightly different path, saying:
“My oldest and youngest are into it pretty big. My middle guy is super creative. He’s like, “’I don’t know if I wanna get beat up like that, Dad, but can you insult people and make money in wrestling? You can? That’s awesome!'”
Jeff Hardy is hopeful that his daughters could follow the Hardy Boyz legacy thanks to the women’s tag team championships, stating:
“When I saw that on TV, I was like, ‘Oh my God, they have Women’s Tag Team Championships. What if I have the first tag team of the Hardy Girlz?!’ It would be incredible.
“(His eldest daughter) asked me about it several times recently, like, ‘Dad, you still think about maybe getting that ring one day?’ So it’s maybe not too late, and the Hardy Girlz may very well be a thing in the future!’
In TNA Wrestling, the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship is held by The Elegance Brand (Heather By Elegance & M By Elegance), while Rhiyo (Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY) hold the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, and Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale) are AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions.
Matt Hardy’s son Maxel is no stranger to the ring, having defeated Rockstar Spud in a No DQ match back in November 2016 on the Total Nonstop Deletion episode of IMPACT.
Jeff Hardy would also tease the possibility of a future character change, leaning into the legacy of The Hardys.
