With four years between her last Royal Rumble appearance and her recent return, Brie has now revealed how she prepared for her comeback.

Speaking to Crisco Kidd Block Party, Brie Bella revealed that former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan, better known to AEW fans as Bryan Danielson helped her to prepare after she got the call from WWE, saying:

“I, for the last year, have been doing heavy weight training and doing all Nikki’s style of training that I’ve never done before in my life. Nikki was always the one who was squatting, Olympic lifting, all the crazy stuff.

“I started to do it, just being at my age and I wanted to challenge myself, and I fell in love with it. Then I started to do boxing, fell in love with it.

“So when I got the call for wrestling, I worked with obviously my husband, I’m like, every day I’ve got to do something until I get to the Rumble to make myself better. Whether it was mat wrestling, or we’d go find a ring and get in…

“I was watching a lot of footage, I still am, and just reconditioning everything. I feel like, if you’re not prepared, you’re not going to have confidence.”

Currently a member of the AEW commentary team, Danielson’s full-time in-ring career came to an end at WrestleDream in October 2024, which saw him lose the World Championship to Jon Moxley.

He would compete in a single match last year, defeating Max Caster in an non-televised encounter which lasted just several seconds at the June 25, 2025 AEW Collision taping.
