With his previous AEW run coming to an end when his contract expired in late 2023, Andrade’s return to the company was recently discussed by Tony Khan.

During an interview with Compas on the Beat, the AEW owner was asked his thoughts on Andrade El Idolo being, once again, All Elite, saying:

“I’m so happy Andrade El Idolo is back. I said on the record when he left, he left on fantastic terms. I love Andrade El Idolo, he did so great in the Continental Classic, and in the Worlds End 2023 press conference, I said very clearly, ‘I think Andrade El Idolo is fantastic, he’s going to be leaving on great terms and he’s always welcome back.’

“I’m so glad that he’s back, I’ve always thought the world of him, and I think right now in 2026, it’s the very best that Andrade El Idolo has ever been, in AEW and in any wrestling promotion he’s ever competed in. Right now, Andrade El Idolo in AEW is the best.”

Andrade’s return to AEW has seen him rename his finishing move from the one known as ‘The Message’ in WWE to ‘DM’, which seemingly led to some confusion on social media when he confirmed the change.

A former WWE United States and NXT Champion, Andrade El Idolo is yet to hold a title in AEW.
