After his return at the Royal Rumble, Seth Rollins will make his return to SmackDown tonight. This will be his first appearance on WWE television since his departure at Survivor Series.
Now, ahead of his return, Rollins has posted a cryptic message on Twitter. According to Rollins, he will reveal why he was away and why he has returned. Here is the tweet:
Why I’ve gone.
Why I’m coming back.
What is next. TONIGHT. #Smackdown— Seth Rollins (@WWERollins) February 12, 2021
While there may be a storyline reason given for Rollins’ absence, in real life he has been home after the birth of his daughter.
The late money came in on Seth Rollins to win the Royal Rumble this year. While that did not happen, it may be an indication that WWE has big plans for him as we approach WrestleMania.
Prior to his departure, Rollins had been feuding with Murphy and the Mysterio family. Rey and Dominik Mysterio have moved on to their feud with King Corbin so it seems unlikely Rollins’ plan will involve them.
We will have our live coverage of tonight’s SmackDown starting at 8 pm EST.
