Ridge Holland, real name Luke Menzies, has issued a statement regarding the GoFundMe page set up to support his family following his WWE departure.
UPDATE: Luke Menzies has now added the following:
I AM NOT DONATING THE GO FUND ME MONEY!
Once I am earning money and in a position to donate I will donate to charity. This will be the money i earn not the go fund me money.
I am not a scammer.
With Luke Menzies’ contract originally due to expire on November 14, WWE actually decided to terminate his contract early, due to his public comments on the situation.
A GoFundMe page was subsequently launched with names from the wrestling world contributing to support Menzies and his family.
Luke Menzies has now shared a statement on the page, stating that he wasn’t aware that the page was going live.
Stating that he intends to donate the money from the GoFundMe to charity, Menzies shared the following on Twitter:
Thank you all for the incredible support shown through the GoFundMe campaign.
However, I want to clarify that I was not aware the page was going live and had no prior discussion with the family member who created it.
I’ve since requested that no further donations be accepted, and this change should take effect within the next 24 hours.
One we figure out how to move forward and I recoup the amount donated, I will be donating said amount to charity.
I sincerely apologize if the page caused any upset or offense – that was never the intention. Thank you for your understanding and kindness.
Contributors to the page included WWE stars Chelsea Green and Omos, who both submitted donations of $1000 monthly.
AEW stars Nick Jackson and Kyle Fletcher, in addition to former WWE Champion Raj Dhesi (Jinder Mahal), all individually donated $1000.
