The reasoning behind Drew McIntyre’s WWE TV return on last night’s Monday Night Raw has potentially been revealed.
Two months on from his last WWE match at Bad Blood, Drew McIntyre made his surprise return to TV on last night’s Raw in Everett, Washington.
McIntyre returned at the very end of the broadcast, laying out Sami Zayn following his loss to Seth Rollins in the show’s main event.
The return came as a surprise to many, with it being reported last week that creative discussions had only just begun regarding the Scottish Warrior’s plans for his comeback.
McIntyre himself has since commented on his return, however, now we have further details regarding the reasoning behind it courtesy of PWInsider’s Mike Johnson.
According to the report, the belief backstage in WWE was that McIntyre’s return was brought forward several weeks from when it was originally planned, with Bronson Reed’s injury at Survivor Series being the reason for this change.
Following his participation in WarGames, Bronson Reed confirmed via social media that he suffered an ankle injury whilst delivering a Tsunami from the top of the steel cage through a table.
We will provide further details on WWE’s plans for McIntyre and Reed’s injury return timeline as/when they become available.
