Randy Orton thinks a popular celebrity name is “ready” for a career in WWE, “if he wants it”.
In episode number five of his ‘SPEED GOES PRO’ YouTube series, popular streamer IShowSpeed took on the task of training to become a WWE superstar at the Performance Center in Orlando, FL.
Much like the previous instalments of the series on football, gymnastics, competitive eating and basketball, Speed recruited a top name from WWE to help with his training, with 14-time world champion Randy Orton being the star of choice for Episode 5.
After doing drills and in-ring training with PC coaches Fit Finlay and Matt Bloom, as well as WWE talent Sheamus and Myles Borne, Speed would compete in his first WWE match – taking on WWE LFG star Anthony Luke in a losing effort.
At the end of the episode Speed asked Randy Orton whether he has what it takes to be a WWE superstar, to which Randy replied with a confident assessment of Speed’s future in the business:
“Speed, it takes a very long time to get good at your craft. You got a long way to go but without a shadow of a doubt I think you do have what it takes to be a WWE superstar.”
Orton would then state that WWE has “something” with Speed, and he could become a full-time roster member if it’s something he wants to pursue:
“He is ready, we’ve got something here.
“Mentally he’s there, physically he’s got everything it takes. If he wants to stick with this journey, through hard work and dedication he could one day be a full-time WWE superstar, if he wants it.”
Speed described his experience as a “step in the door” before teasing that WWE could be in his future:
“I think everything y’all just seen was just a step in the door, I need to have more knowledge, I need to learn more, I need to practice more and work for it.
“I guess it’s that time.”
Along with a surprise appearance as a Prime bottle during Logan Paul’s three-way match with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 40, Speed already has one WWE match under his belt – competing in the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match as an impromptu entrant.
