An NXT star is officially set to challenge for a WWE main roster championship on next week’s episode of NXT.
The main roster/NXT crossovers continue, most recently with Chelsea Green and Piper Niven facing Sol Ruca and Zaria in a tag team match last week.
It was actually the NXT duo who scored the win, with Ruca pinning Green.
As a result of that finish, Ruca earned a shot at Green’s WWE Women’s United States Championship.
That match will take place on next week’s March 18 episode of WWE NXT, which returns to the Performance Center in Orlando after this week’s visit to The Theater at Madison Square Garden.
Green became the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14, and has held the title since then.
In addition to that title match, there’ll be a six-person tag as Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo, Luca Crusifino and Adriana Rizzo of the D’Angelo Family face Brooks Jensen, Niko Vance and Izzi Dame of The Culling.
Also, Ricky Saints will make his WWE NXT singles debut in a match against Ridge Holland.
