WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill has revealed that she is ‘shocked’ at how plans for WrestleMania 42 have unfolded.
With the winner of the women’s Elimination Chamber match on February 28 set to face the WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 42, Cargill has expressed her surprise at a notable omission from the match.
Kiana James was victorious over Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax in their Elimination Chamber qualifier, joining Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Raquel Rodriguez, Rhea Ripley, and Tiffany Stratton in the women’s Elimination Chamber match at the February 28 WWE Premium Live Event.
Speaking to Chicago Sports Network, Cargill noted that she believed she would be facing Flair at WrestleMania.
When asked who from the Elimination Chamber lineup she’d most like to face at the Show of Shows, Cargill responded:
“I actually thought I was going to take on Charlotte, so I’m really shocked to see that last Friday, she didn’t qualify.
“It doesn’t matter (who wins at Elimination Chamber), it could be Asuka, it could be Rhea, it could be Tiffany, I already beat Tiffany, it could be whoever, like I said, it doesn’t matter, because I’m going to come out on top as the WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania.”

Flair has addressed her women’s Elimination Chamber match qualifier loss, reiterating that she is ‘fine‘.
Cargill beat Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event in November of last year.
She has also recently reacted to Liv Morgan choosing to face WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania 42 on April 18 & 19.
