A new update has emerged on the status of Finn Balor on the WWE roster and his position within the Judgment Day faction.
UPDATE: At the end of WWE Raw, Finn Balor, who earlier had been refused entry into the Royal Rumble match, interfered in the main event between CM Punk and AJ Styles, attacking Punk.
Last week on Raw in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Irishman Finn Balor challenged CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Balor – who brought back his babyface entrance from a number of years ago – was unsuccessful but put up a good and fair fight, and received a hand of respect from Punk afterwards.
Backstage during tonight’s WWE Raw a week after their match, Balor caught up with Punk and wanted to address what happened last week.
Balor called their match the most memorable night of his career and thanked Punk for giving him his flowers post-match.
However, Balor acknowledge that he never returned the favor, so tonight, he did just that and shared some respectful words directly to Punk.
Punk’s response was to tell Balor that there aren’t many veterans like them left, with the likes of John Cena and AJ Styles retiring of late.
Punk then encouraged Balor to take on the veteran babyface role, and said he believes Balor is good enough to become World Champion, but if he wants to do so, he’ll have to ditch Dominik Mysterio and leave Judgment Day.
Punk said:
“Think about what you want your legacy to be. You wanna be champ? Maybe you need to ditch Judgment Day.
“Because you can’t be champ hanging around garbage like Dominik Mysterio.”

When he said that, Balor seemed deep in thought and didn’t at all rule out that idea.
There has been tension between Balor and Mysterio dating back almost an entire year including Mysterio pinning Balor to become WWE Intercontinental Champion at WrestleMania 41.
