New Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes has commented on his WrestleMania 40 win ahead of tonight’s Raw.
In last night’s WrestleMania 40 main event, Cody Rhodes finally finished his story, defeating Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and ending Reigns’ historic run at 1316 days.
Tonight’s WWE Raw show will mark the first episode of the show with Rhodes as the champion, and he has commented ahead of the show.
Taking to Twitter, Cody shared a photo of his new championship alongside the WWWF World Championship.
He said:
– When one good story ends, an even better one begins – @WWE
Cody wasn’t the only WWE star to end a historic title run at WrestleMania 40, with Sami Zayn ending Gunther’s record-setting Intercontinental Championship reign at 666 days, the longest in the title’s history.
Several AEW stars were in attendance during last night’s show, including Ricky Starks and Cody’s brother Dustin Rhodes.
Tonight’s Raw show will emanate from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, with over 18,o00 tickets sold for the show currently.
We will of course keep you posted with any news from the show.
