For the first time since 2016, former WWE star Tommaso Ciampa will be heading to the independent wresting scene.
Having recently parted ways with WWE, Tommaso Ciampa has gone on to make his AEW debut and is now ‘All Elite‘.
With a victory over Mark Briscoe on the January 31 episode of AEW Collision, Ciampa has already won his first title in the company, becoming TNT Champion.
Now, it has been confirmed that Ciampa will be making his first independent appearance since 2016 at AAW Wrestling.
In an announcement shared on Twitter, AAW confirmed the news ahead of their 22nd Anniversary Show, stating:
“AAW Pro Wrestling presents EPIC: The 22 Year Anniversary Event on March 20th at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL.
“Featuring a special appearance by Tommaso Ciampa.”
The March 20 show marks Ciampa’s return to AAW, with his last match being in September 2016 where he faced Pentagon Jr. for the Heavyweight Championship.
Having left WWE when his contract expired, Ciampa has since revealed his reason for choosing to part ways with the company.
Ciampa’s time in WWE saw him become a two-time NXT Champion, along with holding the NXT & WWE Tag Team championships with Johnny Gargano.
