The AEW Women’s World Champion has revealed that she is open to potentially joining another faction in the future.

A former member of Best Friends (alongside Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, Orange Cassidy, and Wheeler Yuta), Kris Statlander has carved out a singles career of her own in AEW, although she isn’t adverse to tag team competition.

During a recent appearance on Wrestfriends, Statlander opened up about her time in Best Friends and the possibility of joining another faction, saying:

“I personally love having people to work with and play off of.

“I feel like I’m more comfortable surrounded by people that share the same wavelength that I do, which is why I think me being with Best Friends so early, we were just such a charmed group, it was whimsical and everyone was charmed by us, whether they loved us or hated us.
Everyone was just like ‘Oh, it’s just a nice happy group to see.’

“I do feel like I work well (both in factions and by herself), Personally, I just feel like I love getting to be surrounded by people that I love and have fun with.

“I’m all about wrestling being fun, when we’re intentionally hurting ourselves and travelling all the time, I’m like, the least that I want out of my day is to enjoy it. There’s so many people in wrestling that make it worthwhile.

“I would love to be in a faction again, I understand why nobody is cool with me at the moment, totally understand.

“Hopefully I can make amends with people, and we can work towards… I can work towards having like a family of my own again, but right now I have to cruise along and understand that it’s okay to be by yourself sometimes.”

Statlander became the AEW Women’s World Champion in a victory over Toni Storm, Jamie Hayter and Thekla at All Out earlier this year.

Her win saw Statlander become the first AEW star to have held both the Women’s World Championship and TBS Championship.
