AEW star Kota Ibushi has provided an update on his recovery from injury, having been sidelined in October of this year.
Following his match against Josh Alexander on the October 11 episode of AEW Collision, Kota Ibushi revealed that he had suffered a broken femur.
He would undergo successful surgery to repair the injury, revealing that he was able to leave the bed and get into a wheelchair with a degree of pain.
Ibushi has now shared an update on his progress, having been advised that he could be out of action for around two years.
In a post on Instagram, Ibushi appeared hopeful for his return to AEW, seemingly suggesting that it may be sooner than expected, writing:
“I suffered a serious injury. The doctor told me that it would take about two years for me to return to competition.
“It’s been about two months since I was injured. However, it seems that I don’t need that. But that doesn’t mean I’ll take any easy steps.
“This time, I really want to step into the wrestling ring. So please give me a little more time.“
The post was accompanied by photos showing Ibushi outdoors in his wheelchair, following by an image of the AEW star wincing in pain.
Two other photos would also show Ibushi with his finger in the air and showing off his biceps.
Finally, a video showed Ibushi performing a kettlebell swing, showing the range of motion in his legs, although it isn’t clear when this was recorded.
WrestleTalk wishes Kota Ibushi well in his recovery from injury.
