The backstage reaction in AEW to former star Powerhouse Hobbs debuting as Royce Keys at the WWE Royal Rumble has been revealed.
In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Royce Keys made his official WWE debut in the men’s Royal Rumble match on January 31.
A number of AEW stars would publicly react to the debut of Keys in posts on social media after he made his presence felt at the Royal Rumble.
Now, details of the reaction backstage in AEW at the appearance of the former Powerhouse Hobbs have emerged.
According to WRKD Wrestling, there were “many backstage close to him thrilled about his jump and Royal Rumble debut.”
The report notes that Hobbs parted ways with AEW on “great terms”, going on to tease that he won’t be the last to make a move to WWE.
While other names who could make the jump from AEW to WWE weren’t specified, WRKD Wrestling states they are “not talking about (Chris) Jericho.”
Following the Royal Rumble, Keys has gone on to receive his first official WWE merchandise, commenting on that and his debut.
