With the road to WrestleMania 42 squarely underway, there could be some fascinating new WWE championship matches set for the event.
From some that seem highly likely to others that may be more outside the box, there are definitely multiple WWE championships that will be on the line during WrestleMania 42.
Here are six potential WWE WrestleMania 42 championship matches.
6. World Heavyweight Championship – CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Although there could certainly be twists and turns on the road to WrestleMania 42, CM Punk vs Roman Reigns has officially been announced for WrestleMania.
After picking up the major victory in the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns has made his intention clear.
With a fiery segment on a recent edition of WWE Raw, Reigns will be targeting CM Punk at WrestleMania 42.
Although a returning Seth Rollins could complicate matters in the long run and potentially lead to a bigger multi-man match being announced in the end, any configuration will be compelling in its own way.

5. WWE Women’s Championship – Jade Cargill (c) vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Jordynne Grace
With Jade Cargill making her dominance clear regarding her WWE Women’s Championship, perhaps there could be an interesting new set of challengers.
While there could certainly be a number of current SmackDown stars that make the cut, it could prove to be a massive return to WWE that cements the WrestleMania 42 match.
With numerous top names in the SmackDown women’s division, it might ultimately make sense to see a three-way match between Cargill vs Tiffany Stratton and Jordynne Grace turned into a fatal four-way.
Certainly if Bianca Belair finds herself returning to action ahead of WrestleMania 42, there could be a fascinating battle that unfolds on SmackDown, potentially resulting in her joining the title picture.

4. Undisputed WWE Championship – Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Jacob Fatu
While there are plenty of potential matches that could come from whoever wins the Elimination Chamber, it could be that the victory doesn’t secure anyone a one-on-one battle.
With plenty of storyline drama still existing between Drew McIntyre and his formidable foes from WWE SmackDown in Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu, it may be that the Elimination Chamber winner doesn’t end up gaining a one-on-one bout at WrestleMania 42.
If Brock Lesnar enters the Elimination Chamber and is able to capture the win, his addition to a main event bout at WrestleMania 42 would be nailed on.
Able to explain away why McIntyre could be goaded into a fatal four-way after a fiery in-ring segment with his current foils Rhodes and Fatu, there would be a massive bout at WrestleMania 42 that could yield any number of results.

3. Intercontinental Championship – Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Finn Balor
One formative match that could end up being booked in the end for WWE WrestleMania 42 is a war between Judgment Day brethren,
With a potential Judgment Day Civil War breaking out between members, it could be fascinating to see who remains aligned with one another in the face of adversity.
While the trio of Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez seems to remain solid, the bond between particularly Dominik Mysterio and Finn Balor is less so.
Since the road to WrestleMania is known to host twists and turns for fan favorites, there could be a major change coming for one of the two stars in the near future, resulting in a match between the two that has been brewing since Mysterio pinned Balor at last year’s event.

With contenders like Dupri, Nattie and Ivy Nile still being able to get back in the hunt, it could be that there is a fun road to WrestleMania 42 ahead.
Opening up a brand new set of challengers for Lee, it could be that a title change in Las Vegas harkens another change entirely as the match could prove pivotal for stories moving forward.

1. Women’s Tag Team Championship – Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY (c) vs. The Bella Twins vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax & Lash Legend vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria
With Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY moving into Elimination Chamber holding the Women’s Tag Team Championship, it would seem that singular focus could distract from maintaining the tag gold.
While it would make sense to see Rhea Ripley and/or IYO SKY go to war in the Elimination Chamber bout, instead the duo could remain united to go on to WrestleMania 42.
Able to showcase some of the best talent across generations, this bout could be the perfect marquee moment for WrestleMania 42, featuring plenty of top talent.
