The road to WrestleMania 42 has seen a lot of changes and attention being given to the WWE women’s division.
From Liv Morgan winning the Women’s Royal Rumble and choosing Stephanie Vaquer’s WWE Women’s World Championship to Rhea Ripley winning the Elimination Chamber, the company has already set up two tantalizing title bouts for Mania.
Now with recent reports indicating WWE will set a record for the most women’s matches at “The Show of Shows,” there will be a huge spotlight on the female stars at this year’s Mania in Las Vegas.
Here are six potential women’s matches to be added to WWE WrestleMania 42.
WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Street Fight: AJ Lee (c) vs. Becky Lynch

Since returning to WWE in September 2025, AJ Lee has been a thorn in the side of Becky Lynch, making her life a living hell.
In 2025, AJ made Becky submit on two occasions, first at WWE Wrestlepalooza and again in the Women’s WarGames at Survivor Series.
At WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, Lee defeated Lynch to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
After capturing the title in Chicago, this should set the stage for a Street Fight rematch for the Women’s IC Title where AJ will defend against Becky at “The Showcase of the Immortals.”

WWE Women’s United States Championship: Giulia (c) vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Kiana James vs. IYO SKY

On the January 2 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Giulia defeated Chelsea Green to become a two-time WWE Women’s United States Champion.
Kiana James joined forces with “The Beautiful Madness” last summer and has been by her side ever since.
Meanwhile, Tiffany Stratton made her return to WWE at Royal Rumble 2026 and came up short in the Women’s Elimination Chamber to advance to WrestleMania 42.
Considering WWE cancelled the Giulia vs. IYO SKY match on the February 20 episode of SmackDown, the company could pit those two Joshi legends against James and Stratton in a four-way for the Women’s U.S. Title at WrestleMania 42.

Nattie vs. Maxxine Dupri in a Bloodsport Rules Match

On the January 19 episode of Monday Night Raw, Nattie betrayed Maxxine Dupri, costing her the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch.
Ever since then, Nattie and Maxxine have been embroiled in a feud where the two former tag team partners have faced each other on two occasions.
Nattie and Maxxine have faced in two matches that had inconclusive finishes. In their latest meeting on the February 23 WWE Raw, “The Lowkey Legend” knocked out Dupri and won via referee stoppage.
This should lead to the culmination of this rivalry between Nattie and Maxxine potentially in a Bloodsports Rules Match at WrestleMania 42 this April.

Asuka vs Kairi Sane

Speaking of former tag team partners doing battle, The Kabuki Warriors have had a different dynamic with one another since Asuka’s return to WWE in 2025.
“The Empress of Tomorrow” has become a more domineering presence to Kairi Sane, taking a role of senpai and bossing her partner around at every turn.
After months and months of verbal, emotional and physical abuse, it feels like only a matter of time before Sane finally snaps and turns against Asuka.
Kairi finally standing up for herself could lead to a showdown between The Kabuki Warriors in a singles showdown at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

NXT Women’s Championship: Sol Ruca (c) vs. ZARIA

WWE NXT has been getting featured more and more on the main roster in recent months.
Back at WWE Royal Rumble 2026, Sol Ruca had a standout performance lasting over 50 minutes and making it to the final three in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
Over on NXT, Ruca was recently betrayed by ZARIA after a partnership and friendship that has lasted over a year.
Bringing this friends-turned-enemies story to a head on “The Grandest Stage of Them All,” Sol and ZARIA could face each other with the NXT Women’s Championship on the line at WrestleMania 42 if the title changes hands at Stand & Deliver.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tag Team Turmoil: The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend) (c) vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez) vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria vs. The Bella Twins (Brie & Nikki Bella)

Over the past few months, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship picture has heated up in a major way.
On the February 27 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, The Irresistible Forces defeated RHIYO to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
While Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY may be out of the picture, there are several different duos, such as Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, The Judgment Day, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria and The Bella Twins, that look to get another opportunity.
Placing five pairings into a Tag Team Turmoil for the gold at WrestleMania 42, WWE could put a huge spotlight on the division and allow multiple different female stars to perform when the lights are on the brightest in Las Vegas.
