WWE has its fair share of tag teams that have been teasing an upcoming split that may take place in the weeks to come.
With WrestleMania 42 fast approaching, the company could have some longtime duos choose to go their separate ways before the new season of WWE begins.
Whether it be due to a star wanting to go out on their own or just being the right time to explore individual talent instead of keeping them in their pairings, there could be a new world of opportunities for certain names on the WWE roster if they split from their established partners.
Here are six WWE tag teams that could potentially split up soon.
6. Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)

On the March 6 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Fraxiom defeated the Motor City Machine Guns in Tag Team Turmoil.
Post match, Alex Shelley was seen trying to help Johnny Gargano in his recent bout of depression, which led to his tag team partner Chris Sabin taking exception to this and calling out his friend for caring more about their former rival than their partnership.
This was the first obvious crack forming between Sabin and Shelley since signing with WWE in 2024.
WWE could choose to explore Sabin and Shelley separately from their Motor City Machine Guns partnership to see how far both veterans can go on their own.
5. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Grayson Waller)

After the recent shoulder injury for Xavier Woods, The New Day is now Kofi Kingston and Grayson Waller.
In recent weeks on Monday Night Raw, Kingston has attempted to gain the favor and support of Je’Von Evans to help guide “The Young OG.”
This has led to some dissension being shown between Kingston and Waller with Kofi even mentioning that many people questioned The New Day for joining forces with Grayson to begin with.
Kingston kicking Waller to the curb for Evans would be an interesting route to take for their story and could point to an apparent babyface turn for The New Day coming sooner rather than later.
4. The MFTs (Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga)

Over the past few months, fans have seen Tama Tonga rise to prominence as a singles competitor for the first time since joining WWE in 2024.
After signing with the company, Tonga quickly joined forces with Solo Sikoa in the New Bloodline as his “right hand man.”
Now part of The MFTs faction, Tonga has recently found success on his own against the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura and Ilja Dragunov as well as a pinfall win over United States Champion Carmelo Hayes in an eight-man tag team match.
With Nakamura questioning how long he will be a good soldier to Sikoa, Tama Tonga could break free from The MFTs and go on his own to win singles championship gold in the near future.

3. DarkState (Dion Lennox, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin & Cutler James)

DarkState have ran roughshod over WWE NXT since arriving in the early portion of 2025.
Dion Lennox, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin and Cutler James have torn through the roster and everyone in their wake to become two-time NXT Tag Team Champions, while leaving a ton of bodies behind them.
At WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2026, Tony D’Angelo defeated Dion Lennox in singles action. This loss could signal a change coming for DarkState.
Whether it be Lennox wanting to stand on his own moving forward or the rest of DarkState kicking him out of the group, it would make sense to change the dynamic of the faction that has tried to take over NXT for the past year.
2. Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)

The Street Profits are one of the longest tenured partnerships in WWE today, having formed their pairing during their days in NXT in 2016.
Now 10 years into their duo, the Street Profits have found themselves directionless at the moment since losing the WWE Tag Team Championships in the summer of 2025.
Having been off WWE television for the past six months, it might be time for Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins to go their separate ways for a bit.
Splitting the Street Profits could help both Ford and Dawkins to become accomplished singles stars that see each man rise the ranks and try to match their success as a pairing.
1. Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid)

Fatal Influence have sat at the top of the WWE NXT women’s division for quite some time now.
Ever since Jacy Jayne captured the NXT Women’s Championship, the group has dominated any and every woman in their way.
While there have been cracks forming in their foundation for the longest time, Fatal Influence have stayed loyal to one another.
With Jayne set to face Sol Ruca and Zaria for the NXT Women’s Championship on the March 17 edition of WWE NXT, a loss could spark a split within Fatal Influence that sees Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid going their separate ways.
