In the aftermath of Seth Rollins’ shoulder injury WWE’s creative plans could see a big shift, including several stars undergoing changes to their established characters.
Whether there has already been teases of an impeding change, or they come out of nowhere, we could soon see many names receive all new direction on WWE programming soon.
Here are eight WWE stars to potentially undergo character changes soon.
8. Jey Uso

In recent months Jey Uso has shown more and more signs of an impending character change, with the former happy-go-lucky star now taking things more seriously as he attempts to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship and potentially even become the new Tribal Chief.
While this change has so far not seen much success for Jey, Rollins’ removal from the top spot on Raw could lead to Jey seizing the opportunity to replace him with both hands.
Jey remains super popular with fans, especially young ones, so a heel turn may be something WWE may not want to rush, but it does seem like one is coming eventually.
Jey removing the Yeeting from his entrance would be enough to solidify this shift in tone, opening up more doors for his character to achieve world title success again by any means necessary.

7. Austin Theory

Prior to Rollins’ injury at WWE Crown Jewel it was reported by the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer that Austin Theory was set to team up with The Vision and Brock Lesnar at WWE Survivor Series WarGames.
Making for quite unbelievable reading given Theory’s overall lack of significance on WWE programming for the past two years, if these plans were to be believed, it seems like the former United States Champion could be in line for a renewed push.
While Theory has always possessed the potential to be a future main event star in WWE, the company will need to make some big changes to his character and presentation if they’re still planning to align him with The Vision.
Alternatively, WWE could bring Theory back in a babyface role, with it seeming like that was the direction they were going with his character before his abrupt injury absence began in July.

6. Jade Cargill

Jade Cargill is someone who seems poised to finally reach the mountain top and become a world champion before the year is out.
However, after failing to dethrone Tiffany Stratton as a babyface on two occasions it may be time for the former AEW star to show a rougher side to her character in order to get the job done.
Cargill adopting a ruthless edge as a heel would make for an exciting prospect, especially with Bianca Belair’s return potentially nearing.
Cargill vs. Belair is a WrestleMania match waiting to happen, and in order for it to truly work as a top level feud one of the two stars would likely have to change their characters in some way.

5. Damian Priest

After being defeated in a Last Man Standing Match by Aleister Black on the October 10 episode of SmackDown, Damian Priest’s next steps seem unclear.
While he may seek revenge on Black and Zelina Vega and continue their feud, it could instead be time for Priest to embrace a darker edge to his character once again.
Priest was at his best as a heel in The Judgment Day, and while returning to that group likely isn’t going to happen, perhaps he can form a new alliance with Black rather than fighting against him.
Alternatively, Priest could turn heel by attacking beloved former Judgment Day ally R-Truth, something that would immediately solidify his status as one of SmackDown’s top bad guys.

4. Santos Escobar

Santos Escobar officially became a free agent on October 7 after rejecting a new deal from WWE.
Just one day later however, it was reported that Escobar and WWE had agreed a new and improved contract, with the Legado Del Fantasma frontman expected to be positioned in a much greater role on TV given his higher price.
As of now however, Escobar has yet to return to TV and remains listed as a WWE alum on the company’s roster page. While it remains to be seen what WWE decide to do with Escobar, the buzz surrounding his status could provide a good opportunity to give him a completely fresh start, complete with a new character.
Whether it’s simply a babyface turn or a complete repackaging, a change will be necessary if WWE do plan on pushing Escobar beyond the mid-card.

3. Lyra Valkyria

We have already begun to see a different side of Bayley on Raw in recent weeks, with the Role Model showing off something of a split personality.
Alongside Bayley’s bizarre change however, her relationship with Lyra Valkyria has also had it’s ups and downs, with Bayley’s new bipolar nature often confusing Lyra.
However, Bayley got Lyra to show a meaner edge a number of weeks ago, when she joined Bayley in a backstage assault of the Judgment Day following her defeat.
Could Bayley’s twisted personality be slowly starting to have an effect on Lyra?

2. Tony D’Angelo

At NXT Stand and Deliver this year, Stacks betrayed the Don, bringing an end to the D’Angelo Family’s time on NXT, with Tony ultimately picking up the win in the group’s triple threat match.
However, a week later, Tony was seemingly written off NXT, with a segment mirroring the final shot of the Sopranos, which would seem to be a very appropriate way to write off D’Angelo from NXT.
With Tony still not appearing back on NXT, it has led to some speculation that he may soon make his way up to Raw or SmackDown.
If that does happen, given how things ended for him in NXT, it’s possible Tony’s days as ‘The Don’ could very well be over.

1. Seth Rollins

With Seth Rollins suffering an injury during his match with Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel, the landscape of Monday Night Raw has now seen a major shake up.
Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed have now betrayed Seth, with their own version of The Vision set to run the show on Raw in his absence.
With the Vision continuing their path of destruction without Rollins, Seth will likely return to seek revenge on Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed when the time comes.
When that day does come, fans can expect a different side of Rollins as he looks to take out the Vision.
