With WWE SummerSlam 2025 coming up in just over a week’s time on August 2 & 3, the card is continuing to fill out.
However there are seemingly a host of big names that will not end up making it on the first-ever two night version of the popular summer event.
Here are nine WWE stars that seem set to miss out on SummerSlam 2025.
9. Sami Zayn
Although he was referenced on-screen as being “out of action indefinitely” – Sami Zayn made a return on this past Monday’s WWE Raw.
He would face Karrion Kross in a losing effort but after another attack targeting his ribs, Zayn’s SummerSlam status seems to be still unknown.
There is certainly a path forward which could see Zayn return sooner rather than later to potentially seek even more vengeance on Kross in their on-going feud.
However for now at least – it appears Sami Zayn could be sitting out SummerSlam 2025.

8. Seth Rollins
Another fan favorite name who seems to be out of action for the ‘Biggest Party of the Summer’ is Seth Rollins.
Rollins’ match with LA Knight at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event had to be stopped after Rollins suffered what appeared to be a knee injury.
Mr. Money in the Bank would finish the match, albeit quickly with LA Knight picking up the victory, but reports later that Rollins revealed his injury was in fact legitimate.
He would go on to confirm a knee injury during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, but wasn’t specific about the expected duration out of action beyond “extended period of time”. Questions remain regarding his status, but SummerSlam should give us the answers.

7. Ludwig Kaiser
While WWE fans can expect Chad Gable to miss SummerSlam, they also assumed El Grande Americano would be similarly out of action.
However, a new Americano emerged in the wake of Gable’s absence – with Ludwig Kaiser now under the mask and wearing the singlet.
Since El Grande Americano has gone on to feud with Dragon Lee – it seems as though he will be on the SummerSlam card.
Ludwig Kaiser on the other hand is unlikely to appear – unless perhaps it is on a separate night of SummerSlam than Americano.

6. Bianca Belair
Despite recently making an appearance at WWE Evolution as a special guest referee for Naomi vs. Jade Cargill – Bianca Belair has since clarified her status.
Noting in an interview that she may require surgery to on one of her three broken fingers sustained at WrestleMania, Belair seems unlikely for SummerSlam.
While she would go on in the interview to tease that there “might be” time for her to make a SummerSlam appearance, it seems unlikely that she will be wrestling at the event.
However, since there is scheduled to be celebrity guest host Cardi B for the two-night affair, maybe Bianca Belair would be the bEST co-host.

5. Jimmy Uso
While Roman Reigns is set to partner up with Jey Uso to take on Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed at SummerSlam 2025 – there isn’t a match currently set for Jimmy.
Previous rumors suggested that Jey had lost the WWE World Championship in part due an incoming reunion of The Usos.
However with Seth Rollins out of action, the numbers in the now Paul Heyman-led faction have dwindled to only the pair of Brons, so it seems unlikely that Jimmy will get involved with Roman and Jey’s business at SummerSlam.
With Solo Sikoa taking on Jacob Fatu in a Steel Cage at SummerSlam it seems more likely that “Big Jim” will attempt to even the odds for “The Samoan Werewolf” as he attempts to reclaim his United States Championship.

4. Rey Mysterio
After being pulled from action due to a groin injury a day before WrestleMania 41, it is possible Rey Mysterio could miss SummerSlam as well.
While a return timeline has not been officially shared, there has been some intriguing reporting that might make it possible that he ends up making an appearance at the event.
Rumored to potentially be returning in August, perhaps there is a surprise SummerSlam return set for the WWE Hall of Famer.
While it seems that El Grande Americano is now feuding with Mysterio’s fellow LWO member Dragon Lee – it could be that we have to wait until the event to see the legend make his return.

3. Austin Theory
While his A-Town Down Under tag team partner Grayson Waller has been getting cozy with The New Day – Austin Theory hasn’t seen any recent in-ring action.
After months of teasing a potential blow-off battle between the two in a big break-up- it would never come to happen.
Instead on WWE Raw on July 21, Waller would reveal in a backstage segment that Austin Theory was out of action due to injury and A-Town Down Under was over in a conversation with the aforementioned Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Although Theory seems unlikely to factor into SummerSlam – Waller seems likely to be joining forces with The New Day, albeit with Kingston and Woods seeming not so thrilled by the prospect of the partnership.

2. Damian Priest
After an intriguing feud with Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest has been being stalked by a particularly dark force.
Having been attacked by Aleister Black for two straight weeks, it seems that the pair will continue their rivalry in the lead up to the event.
There is still time for a match for the two to be made ahead of the August 2nd kick-off for the first-ever two night SummerSlam, but it’s uncertain whether WWE will give the pair that big a spot.
While it would be nice to see Black back on a WWE PLE for the first time since his return to the company, this does seem like a match WWE could book for SmackDown instead of SummerSlam.

1. Liv Morgan
After being seemingly poised for a summer of big stories – Liv Morgan picked up an unfortunate shoulder injury, taking her out of active competition.
Already taking to social media to share that she had undergone surgery, she is still expected to continue to be out of action for the foreseeable future.
While Morgan was one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time of her injury – her partner Raquel Rodriguez has gone on in her absence, instead replacing her with Roxanne Perez.
While the champs are set to face off against the duo of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam – it seems unlikely that Liv Morgan will be joining them in any capacity.
