With one big mystery still looming in WWE, the mystery crate seems set to be opened in Chicago at the Elimination Chamber by Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis.

From brand new stars making their debut after long exile elsewhere to familiar faces that could be making their way back to WWE — there are some exciting prospects as to who or what might be within the crate.

Here are six stars that could end up emerging from the mystery crate at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026.

6. The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff Hardy)

A pair of characters that would be able to emerge from the crate and still delight fans would be Matt and Jeff Hardy.

While the duo are signed to TNA Wrestling at the minute, the shipping crate could be explained away in that they were on loan to WWE for this Road to WrestleMania.

Best suited to bring about their Broken gimmick back to the main roster, it would be a lot of fun to see the Hardy Boyz end up making it to WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

Able to set up a major showdown between four brother teams for WrestleMania 42 if you include the Creed Brothers, the Lucha Brothers, The Hardy Boyz and current WWE World Tag Team Champions The Usos — there could be an enormous Mania match ahead.

5. Danhausen

AEW's Danhausen

With speculation running wild about who or what could be inside the mysterious crate, the date on it seems to line up with another important development.

On February 27 it seemed that Danhausen confirmed first that he was free from his AEW contract albeit through means of indirectly confirming (instead, posting a photo of the Genie from Aladdin after his shackles have been removed) but later, more developments from AEW.

The official AEW roster page was updated, removing Danhausen and potentially teasing that the Very Nice, Very Evil star could actually be WWE bound.

With his hometown of Detroit, Michigan being only a few hours away from the massive Chicago show, perhaps the Elimination Chamber event will see Danhausen finally revealed after the crate is opened.

4. Chris Jericho

Another name seemingly on ice at the minute by AEW is Chris Jericho. While there were rumors that his AEW contract was set to be up at the end of 2025, later an update suggested that his contract had been frozen.

Potentially able to emerge from inside the crate and be presented as having been on ice from AEW since last April, Jericho would be the biggest potential star that could emerge from the mysterious delivery.

While fans of the very serious side of professional wrestling may certainly lambast the move, it could in fact be the most legendary way for the innovative icon to make his way back to WWE.

Setting the tone for his time in WWE to be as camp and sports entertainment based as ever, the reveal could be absolutely perfect for the over-the-top former WWE World Champion to return.

3. The Dudley Boyz

Although fans are hopeful that there could be a major reveal coming from within the crate, there are others who think that expectations should be managed.

Certainly able to be a tie-in with the upcoming video game release for WWE 2k26, it may be that it ends up being a pair of special edition cover stars that pop-up from within the crate.

Two potential suspects could be the Dudley Boyz, giving an opportunity for the duo to appear ahead of the game release and incorporate them into the current storylines.

While the duo seemingly retired recently from in-ring action after they took on the Hardy Boyz at TNA Bound for Glory in October 2025 in a tables match for both the TNA Wrestling and NXT Tag Team Championship. After their loss, the Dudleys left their boots behind in the ring, signaling the end of their active wrestling careers — but not that they couldn’t pop-up for a surprise appearance.

2. Lita & Trish Stratus

Another duo that feature on the cover of the Attitude Era edition of the upcoming WWE 2K26 video game that could be revealed as being inside the crate could be Lita and Trish Stratus.

Less likely to face backlash for being an underwhelming reveal due to their own star power and importance within WWE, it might end up making total sense.

The beloved fan favorites could easily emerge from within the crate and receive a warm reception rather than what could happen if other unexpected surprises may tumble out.

Recently appearing in some short videos together (which also included Paige) for Instagram — perhaps WWE could see all three legends returning on the Road to WrestleMania 42.

1. Karrion Kross

One surprise reveal from within the crate that could delight some sections of the WWE fandom might be Karrion Kross.

After departing WWE after his last contract came to an end, Karrion Kross set off to make a name for himself again in indie wrestling.

Anything seems possible in professional wrestling so whether the moment was serious or was instead just meant to drum up interest amongst the WWE fan base — we’ll have to stay tuned to find out.

An equally likely option to Karrion Kross being inside the crate would actually just be a slightly smaller crate with new instructions as to when the next could be opened.
