CM Punk, GUNTHER and Becky Lynch on a WWE Raw background after the 2024 WWE Draft

The rosters for WWE Raw and SmackDown are now set after the 2024 WWE Draft reached its official conclusion.

How did Raw in particular come out? Well, we’re gonna take a look at every single current member of the post-draft roster to find out.

We’ll give every current star on the show a rating out of 10, starting with…

Jey Uso

Jey Uso was Raw’s very first pick on night one of the draft, even ahead of Seth Rollins.

His stock dropped ever so slightly among some fans due to his WrestleMania match against his twin brother Jimmy Uso not being great, but it doesn’t seem to have affected his popularity overall.

He continues to be over in every arena, and it’s a really cool story for him to be the first pick after being a tag team guy for so long.

Seth Rollins

Despite currently being injured, it’s no surprise that Seth Rollins was drafted as early as the second pick.

He spent the past year turning a brand new championship into something prestigious, and, by the end, he succeeded in doing so.

He was also the MVP of WrestleMania and it’ll no doubt be a huge deal when he returns.

Bron Breakker

It officially feels like we’re just counting down the days for Bron Breakker to become World Heavyweight Champion.

With the exception of something horrible happening like an injury or horrifically bad booking, there should be no stopping Breakker from being one of the top guys on the roster in just a few months.

He’s a 2002-2003 Brock Lesnar in 2024, just without all the negative Brock Lesnary things.

Liv Morgan

The best thing about Liv Morgan right now is that there’s a ready-made feud for Rhea Ripley when she returns. There’s obviously nothing wrong with Morgan on her own, but this really is an added bonus to help spice things up for her.

This is where the logic of the WWE Draft in its current format is somewhat flawed because in theory there were definitely people who hadn’t been drafted on night one yet that ended up on SmackDown, that if it was a real draft, Raw probably should have picked before they picked Liv Morgan.

But, again, if you want to use the logic of a guaranteed Rhea Ripley match, the pick makes sense. She’ll likely beat Becky Lynch for the Women’s World Championship soon.

Ricochet

There is nothing inherently wrong with Ricochet, but he seems to be in this constant weird position of WWE pushing him on posters and in trailers, but when it comes to actual booking, it doesn’t reflect that same level of push.

He often disappears for weeks if not months, comes back for a mini-feud with someone and does something spectacular, then that same cycle happens again.

WWE could have something in Ricochet, but his booking needs to start reflecting that before it’s too late. Much like Liv Morgan, there were definitely (for want of a better word) better picks available when Ricochet was chosen.

Sheamus

Sheamus is honestly a great draft pick.

Since he’s just come back he feels fresh and there are plenty of new matches, or even matches that aren’t new but we just haven’t seen for a while because he was gone for so long.

He might not be the youngest guy on the roster, but there’s still some mileage left in him and it’ll be great to see as much of that as possible.

Chad Gable

WWE star Chad Gable

WWE is finally getting somewhere with Chad Gable, and it’s great to see.

Presented in a serious way, as a championship threat, for the couple of weeks that we’ve been seeing this version of Gable it’s already been a treat and it seems like there’s plenty more to come.

Throw in the potential of a new faction with the Creed Brothers, and Gable is a great pick.

Otis

Otis of course came in the Alpha Academy package along with Chad Gable.

Even though Gable is going heel, it’s been great seeing Otis back as his former self for a while now – yes it’s comedy stuff, but he’s great at it and there’s a place for it on WWE TV.

Unfortunately, you do have to question his future – if/when Gable ditches his current Alpha Academy team for the Creeds, where does that leave Otis? That might be worrying.

Maxxine Dupri

Another Alpha Academy member who was picked in affiliation with Chad Gable.

There is definitely some potential with Maxxine – whether that be as a wrestler or just a personality. There’s no denying she has something to offer.

Again you question her future if Gable goes heel and the rest of Alpha Academy don’t, but because she’s a fresher face than Otis and Akira Tozawa, we probably shouldn’t worry about her as much – there’ll be something for her to do.

Rating: 5/10

Akira Tozawa

The fourth and final Alpha Academy member on the list, and potentially the one in the worst spot.

It has been a joy to see Tozawa as a TV regular since joining the Alpha Academy, but as mentioned with the others, it feels like that time may come to an end.

If it does, Tozawa might be the one to worry about the most in terms of how prominently he’s used in the future.

Kiana James

Kiana James from NXT was the last TV pick on night one, and a pretty great one at that.

James is one of many, many, many people on the NXT roster who had been there for a couple of years at this point and in need of a change of scenery.

Unfortunately there are still plenty of those even after the draft, but James is main roster ready both in-ring and out, and should be a great addition to the roster.

Alba Fyre

Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn were drafted as a team – they were on SmackDown, but you probably wouldn’t know that because they were never used.

Unfortunately, WWE continues to seemingly not put much effort into it’s women’s tag division.

If that changes, then yeah, cool pick, but otherwise, it might just be more of the same for Fyre and Dawn, just on a different colored show.

Rating: 3/10

Isla Dawn

Much of the same for Isla Dawn, unfortunately.

Hopefully, with an extra hour of TV time and the Bloodline not taking up a quarter or more of that, there’ll be more chance for people on the roster like Fyre and Dawn to be used to their full potential.

Hopefully.

Ivar

You can’t really fault Ivar as a draft pick.

Guaranteed great matches whenever you need them, and a ready-made fresh team to add to the tag division when Erik returns.

A very good person to have on your roster.

Shayna Baszler

Shayna Baszler has been another casualty of the women’s tag division problem.

Baszler, along with Zoey Stark, is in a position where the audience barely react to them, because they just don’t know how to.

Seriously, are they babyfaces or heels? Literally no idea. They can both be so much more than they are now, but basing it on this point in their careers and the reactions, or lack thereof, they get from fans, it’s hard to call them a great pick.

Zoey Stark

Ditto Shayna Baszler, really.

After the stuff with Trish Stratus last year, Zoey Stark could have been catapulted to the top of the women’s division and cemented into the singles world title scene.

Instead, she’s in a team with Shayna Baszler, and we’ve been through all the problems with that.

GUNTHER

How can you fault GUNTHER as a draft pick? You can’t.

He was the first pick of night two and rightfully so.

He should be winning the King of the Ring tournament in a couple of weeks’ time, and under Triple H, he won’t be walking around in a silly outfit with a crown and a cape.

Ludwig Kaiser

Ludwig Kaiser has a problem. He’s absolutely good enough to break out as a singles talent on his own, rather than just being GUNTHER’s second.

The problem is he’s so good at being GUNTHER’s second, you kind of don’t want to remove him from that either. There’s a decision to be made there about what to do with him.

Either way, a really great pick to have on your roster.

IYO SKY

IYO SKY was of course drafted as one of four members of Damage CTRL as one draft pick.

To get four amazing talents in one pick, you really can’t fault – even if they were all individual they’d be great picks.

Given her run as WWE Women’s Champion and proven quality of matches over the past year, IYO may just be the standout of them all.

Asuka

Unlike the other champions who are dedicated to a single brand, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions were eligible to be drafted.

Again part of Damage CTRL, we all know how awesome Asuka is.

Even though the NXT undefeated streak is a thing way in the past, she still has that aura about her whenever it’s needed and called for, which makes her a great hand to have on the roster.

Kairi Sane

Asuka’s tag team partner Kairi Sane is in the same boat. Get it, because she likes boats?

She doesn’t quite have the Asuka aura, and since she’s returned she hasn’t really had the chance to shine on her own since she was immediately added to Damage CTRL.

Still a very good pick though.

Dakota Kai

Since Bayley’s departure from Damage CTRL, Dakota Kai has excelled in the spokesperson role for the group.

There’s some real potential breakout star in Dakota Kai.

CM Punk

I mean, come on, it’s CM Punk.

There’s one point docked just because there’s a CHANCE he’s marred by injuries and there’s a CHANCE he might get mad at someone again, and in theory, you wouldn’t want that on your roster.

But he’s CM Punk. You’re kidding yourself if you don’t think he’s worth the potential hassle.

It doesn’t look like he’s part of the upcoming Bo Dallas return, at least not yet, which is interesting.

Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio’s 49 years old by the way. Just think about that for a second. Actually take a moment to think about how crazy it is that he’s 49, 50 in a few months, and still moves like he does.

He’s a legend, you get a few picks alongside him with the LWO, and he’s now on the same brand as his son Dominik.

It’s 2024 and Rey Mysterio is still an awesome, almost faultless, WWE Draft pick.

Dragon Lee

Dragon Lee has been used… strangely since his move to the main roster.

He’s kind of been a member of the LWO but kind of not, he’s been touted as the future but keeps losing singles matches to Santos Escobar, and he even went back to NXT just to lose to Oba Femi for no particular reason.

Hopefully we can put that in the past and move on, but WWE needs to get a move on with it.

Joaquin Wilde

Joaquin Wilde is great, but it’s hard to look at him as a ‘good’ draft pick in theory, just based on how he’s been used.

Thankfully, he came with Rey Mysterio and the rest of the LWO so he’s almost just a bonus.

We know he’s capable of the spectacular because he’s had the chance to do it in NXT recently. Hopefully with an extra hour, we can do the same with Raw.

Cruz Del Toro

Same thing as his tag team partner Joaquin Wilde, really.

I wonder how many casual fans would actually be able to correctly state which is which, not through any fault of their own, but just because WWE has barely done anything with them other than have them stand in the background of the LWO stuff based around other people.

It’s a shame but hopefully they can become a real part of the Raw tag division.

Zelina Vega

WWE never really capitalized with Zelina Vega last year.

Yes, the one night reaction in Puerto Rico was because it was in Puerto Rico, but it did seem like there was something there to build from.

That didn’t happen, but she’s still a good person to have on the roster either as a wrestler or a manager when the time comes.

Carlito

It was great to see Carlito back as a babyface, and just as he was starting to get lost in the LWO, he’s turned heel and is set to break out of the group.

The problem is, what do you do with a heel singles Carlito in 2024? Especially if he comes out on the losing side of stuff with Dragon Lee.

Hopefully there’s a plan, because if not, he might get a bit lost on this roster.

Drew McIntyre

WWE star Drew McIntyre

Now that we know he’s staying with WWE for at least three more years, we can safely say Drew McIntyre is a 10/10 draft pick.

McIntyre on TV has become must-see viewing and Raw scores a win for getting him and keeping him in touch with CM Punk.

He was picked a bit later than he should have been, but that kind of plays into his whole story and character anyway, so it works.

Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio was drafted as a member of Judgment Day, so he’s not only great on his own, but he comes as a threesome.

Even with his injury he’s still going to be a very entertaining part of the show, and now there’s the added bonus of being on the same brand as his father Rey Mysterio.

Hopefully that doesn’t lead to repetitive stuff every single week, but it should be entertaining nonetheless.

Finn Balor

Finn Balor’s in a bit of a weird position at the minute.

The guy he held the tag team championship with for much of last year just became the World Heavyweight Champion, leaving Balor in the background a little bit.

He has re-signed with WWE though, so that bodes well. As long as Judgment Day exists he’ll always be doing something, even if he’s not front and center.

Damian Priest

So, Damian Priest is great, but is he seen as a real World Heavyweight Champion? Perhaps not yet. Especially on this roster.

With the level of champion that Cody Rhodes is on SmackDown, it feels like Priest is either always going to be one step below, or he’s gonna have to do some spectacular stuff to get to the same level.

It’s the same problem Seth Rollins had with Roman Reigns but managed to overcome by the end. If Priest can do the same, which he can but it’s a question of the booking, then he’s obviously an asset to the show.

The problem is, with their size they kind of have to be dominant, and they have to win every match and be champions if they’re gonna do that.

Becky Lynch just won the Women’s World Championship and it turns out there quite a few people who weren’t very happy about that.

For people who complained and said Liv Morgan should have won – when Morgan pins Lynch for the title soon (which is what logically should happen), it’s gonna put Morgan in a much better position going forward as champion than if she’d have just luckily won a battle royal.
