On the March 6 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre to win the Undisputed WWE Championship thanks in large part to Jacob Fatu interfering to stop McIntyre from cheating.

Then on the March 13 SmackDown, McIntyre feigned quitting only to return later in the show to cost Fatu his match and attack him after.

It feels like McIntyre will need some sort of backup to counteract an enraged Fatu who will be coming for blood against ‘The Scottish Warrior.’

Here are seven WWE stars to potentially join a new Drew McIntyre faction against Jacob Fatu.

7. Sheamus

There is no secret that Drew McIntyre’s best friend on the WWE roster is definitely Sheamus.

With a friendship that has spanned over two decades, these two men have fought side-by-side and against one another on more than one occasion.

While ‘The Celtic Warrior’ is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, McIntyre might have to make one call if he is to form a faction to battle Jacob Fatu.

McIntyre calling upon Sheamus feels logical and makes a ton of sense considering their history as well as his friend’s list of accolades that makes him a perfect person to add to the ranks of a potential stable.

6. Alba Fyre

Drew McIntyre has more than just one connection to those on the WWE roster, whether it be through friendship or country ties.

Considering McIntyre paved the road for other Scottish wrestlers to make their way to WWE, Alba Fyre is someone that has to look up to ‘The Scottish Warrior.’

Fyre has built her own career and can be seen regularly by the side of Chelsea Green as part of the Secret Hervice.

However, McIntyre feels like someone who could bring out the old Kay Lee Ray from Fyre and put her back on the map as her own woman through the means of a possible faction that vows to take down Jaocb Fatu.

5. Nikki Cross

Another Scottish star who had to gain some kind of inspiration from the rise of Drew McIntyre is Nikki Cross.

While she has not been an active in-ring competitor as of late, Cross is quite accomplished, being a former WWE Women’s Champion and a three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.

As a member of The Wyatt Sicks, Cross has not competed inside the squared circle as much as she once did for many years.

Wanting to bring out ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ inside of her, McIntyre could recruit Cross and help her leave The Wyatt Sicks to join forces with him in a new faction hellbent on ridding WWE of Jacob Fatu.

On the March 13 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Trick Williams defeated Jacob Fatu thanks to outside interference from Drew McIntyre.

After helping him score a victory, McIntyre could feel that Williams owes him one, but Trick has shown himself to be a very cocky individual.

Williams and McIntyre have gotten in each other’s face in the leadup to WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, but they could see eye-to-eye when it comes to Fatu.

Wanting to give the younger star some guidance, McIntyre could see Trick as someone who can sit atop of WWE one day and try to help his rise up the ranks through this potential group.

3. Wade Barrett

The longtime friendship between Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett is well documented and has been referenced on several occasions.

As a WWE commentator, Barrett has come to the defense of McIntyre a few different times and makes it no secret of his bias.

While he is no longer an in-ring competitor, Barrett has showcased his talking ability as an announcer that could translate well to other roles in the company.

Joining this potential faction led by McIntyre, Barrett could become a manager and spokesperson for the group, helping this unit become the most dominant in all of WWE today.

2. Joe Hendry

After his first stint with WWE ended due to a release, Drew McIntyre revived his career by going back to his roots on the European independent scene.

During this run, McIntyre came across an up-and-coming talent that he had a memorable feud with in Joe Hendry.

All these years later, both McIntyre and Hendry are signed with WWE and have each garnered their own success.

Despite being the current NXT Champion, Hendry could help his real life friend in McIntyre with this new faction, potentially turning heel in the process as Drew tries to destroy Jacob Fatu on Friday Night SmackDown.

1. Sami Zayn

At WWE Royal Rumble 2026, Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Since this loss, fans have seen Zayn showing his anger and frustration after a 12th straight loss to his rival. This has caused some tense confrontations with Cody Rhodes on Friday Night SmackDown over the past few weeks.

In a case of “if you can’t beat em, join em,” Zayn might see what McIntyre is trying to accomplish and think that is what he needs to turn his career around.

Zayn turning heel to join forces with McIntyre would be an intriguing story to tell and show how far Sami is willing to go to finally become a world champion.
