At WWE No Mercy, Oba Femi’s dominant near 10-month reign with the NXT Title came to an end when the Nigerian-born star was defeated by Ricky Saints.
During the bout, announcer Booker T noted that Femi “ticks every box” – Femi really does appear to be the complete package: size, charisma, presence, and impressive big man moveset.
There should be no ceiling for his potential on WWE’s main roster.
Now that he’s dropped the NXT Championship, here are eight potential plans for Oba Femi on Raw or SmackDown.
8. Oba Femi Joins The Vision

The Vision faction of Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Becky Lynch is arguably the most pushed act in the entire company.
There appear few more effective ways to introduce Femi than placing him in WWE’s most dominant faction.
With Bron Breakker’s eventual elevation to top babyface star, we could see Femi brought into the group – sowing seeds of dissent and paving the way for Breakker’s split.
Being placed with Paul Heyman would be a surefire sign that WWE has big plans for Femi.

7. Oba Femi Aligns With Randy Orton

In storyline, Randy Orton currently has an informal alliance with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
While battling alongside Rhodes against The Vision, seeds have already been planted for Orton to eventually turn on his former protégé and go after the title.
If Orton does turn heel, we could see him bring in Oba Femi as his heater, providing the necessary muscle.
Femi aligning with Orton would offer a long-term story – one that would eventually see him breaking away and turning babyface on Orton.

6. Feud With Brock Lesnar

At Wrestlepalooza, Brock Lesnar was once again established as the most dominant performer in WWE as he squashed John Cena.
Lesnar’s past few runs in the company have seen him eventually put over top stars like Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
A feud with Lesnar – and potentially a victory – could be the biggest sign yet that WWE sees Oba Femi as a top star.
It certainly could be argued that of any stars on WWE’s roster, no one compares to Lesnar in terms of big-man presence, charisma and explosive, dominating style more than Oba Femi – a feud would promise fireworks!

5. Third Member Of The New Day

Despite Grayson Waller’s best efforts, The New Day have never officially replaced Big E since his tragic neck injury in March 2023.
But could they once again become a three-man faction?
Oba Femi could be brought in as the group’s new powerhouse enforcer as they continue their current run as heels in WWE.
Aligning him with The New Day would be an effective way to introduce the ultra-talented performer to the main roster – before eventually pushing him as a singles star.

4. Oba Femi Begins Win Streak

It is notable that Oba Femi’s entrance in WWE NXT is met with fans chanting “OBA” in the same cadence as that of the legendary star Goldberg.
Goldberg famously began his pro-wrestling career with a 173-match win streak – a storyline that captivated WCW fans in the late 90s and is still spoken about today.
Bringing Femi up to the main roster and giving him an extended unbeaten streak would be a way to strap the proverbial rocket to the 27-year-old.
If such a streak were to culminate in a world title victory, Femi could one day be spoken of in the same rarefied air as Goldberg, 20 years from now.

3. Challenging John Cena For Final Bout

John Cena’s two-and-a-half decade WWE career comes to an end on December 13.
There has been much speculation over who his final opponent will be – an old rival or a new star – and whether Cena bows out in victory or goes out on his back.
For the company’s future, it certainly makes more sense for a star on the rise to be the one to retire the legendary performer.
Given his undeniable potential, there are few – if any – better options than Oba Femi to be the man who retires John Cena.

2. NXT Invasion

Obe Femi is not the only NXT star who many fans believe is main roster ready right now.
The likes of Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Ethan Page, Ricky Saints, Tony D’Angelo and potentially more wouldn’t be out of place if they were called up to Raw or SmackDown.
One way for them to make a mark would be a Nexus-style invasion of the main roster.
Having been NXT Champion for pretty much all of 2025 so far, Oba Femi could be the man to lead them into battle.

1. Sami Zayn US Open Challenge

An ideal way for any NXT star to make a main roster debut right now would be Sami Zayn’s United States Championship open challenge.
Much like 10 years ago when the likes of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens made the move from NXT to the main roster by answering John Cena’s challenge, the same could happen this time around.
Je’Von Evans is already a great example of getting over with a match against Zayn, and Oba Femi could follow suit.
The only difference is that Femi could be the one that takes down Zayn and becomes champion.
