With AEW signing the likes of Adam Copeland, Christian Cage and Bryan Danielson — there could be more WWE legends set to sign with AEW.
From those still active in the ring to others potentially looking to wind their careers down in the near future, there could be some intriguing additions to the cast of characters in AEW.
Here are six WWE legends that could sign with AEW.
6. Mick Foley

While many fans most fondly remember Mick Foley from his time in WWE, his career certainly extended beyond just one company.
Having appeared in WCW, ECW, WWE and TNA Wrestling amongst others — one missing piece is an appearance in AEW.
Continuing to tour for appearances throughout the country, Foley could potentially be persuaded to slow things down for a return to TV albeit not as an in-ring performer.
While Foley has ruled out a return to in-ring action, the beloved professional wrestling figure across multiple characters would be an amazing addition to AEW, even for a season.

5. Bret Hart

Having appeared once before in AEW — at the inaugural Double or Nothing to introduce the AEW World Heavyweight Championship for the first time
Although Bret Hart holds a significant place in AEW history as the legend who introduced the AEW World Heavyweight Championship for the first time — Hart did not make any further appearances for the company.
While Hart is known to be vocal about his opinions on a wide range of professional wrestling topics, there could be a natural reason for him to appear on-screen in AEW.
With the annual Owen Hart Memorial Cup tournament in AEW in honor of Bret’s late brother Owen, perhaps he could make a future one-off appearance again.

4. Beth Phoenix

After making her first on-screen appearance in AEW recently, it seems fans could be one step closer to Beth Copeland (fka Beth Phoenix) signing with the company.
Perhaps already signed, Copeland appeared at AEW All Out last month where she first physically escorted Stokely Hathaway away from interfering at ringside during a match.
Not just any match — the reunion of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage who paired up for the first time in AEW against FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler).
In the end, Cope & Cage may have won the match but the war rages on with FTR delivering a Spike Piledriver to Beth after the match. It certainly seems like things are not over for Beth in AEW!

3. Rhino

A star from the past in WWE, Rhino has a career that extends into multiple other promotions including
Rhino certainly has wise council regarding the switch – from real life pals Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, who also made the leap to working with Tony Khan.
Serving as vintage foil for some of AEW’s younger talent, Rhino could make them look impressive while also not sacrificing other up-and-coming talent to do it.
An important role on the roster that could definitely be filled by Rhino, there would be no shortage of fun moments and enjoyable matches.

2. AJ Styles

With AJ Styles wrapping up his WWE in-ring career next year, there could be time for another run outside of the company.
While Styles has seemingly been clear that he is likely to retire from in-ring action entirely after the end of his latest WWE contract — perhaps he could be persuaded otherwise.
Able to book an extended retirement tour in AEW, Styles could be a featured performer and main attraction on the roster for his farewell in a similar manner to Sting.
Perhaps adding one final run to his legacy would be something Styles would want to do before hanging up his wrestling boots.

1. Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle has sort of already made a return to professional wrestling in his recent role with Real American Freestyle Wrestling.
Serving as a commentator and analyst for the emerging promotion, Angle recently revealed that he is also a part owner.
While the promotion has continued since the passing of Hulk Hogan (one of the promotion’s co-founders), Angle could come to find over time that he is enjoying his life in front of the cameras again.
Potentially able to make a big return in AEW to not only promote the brand he co-owns but also to have his own series of self-directed retirement matches — there could be a solid pitch from Tony Khan that attracts Angle to AEW.
