WWE Legends To Sign With AEW

While the on-going talent swaps continue between WWE and AEW – there could be some notable name legends ready to sign with Tony Khan.

With AEW having demonstrated through the retirement runs of Sting and Bryan Danielson – there could be other WWE legends who could see themselves on-screen in AEW.

Here are six WWE legends that could sign with AEW.

6. Goldberg

After being vocal about some of his disappointments in his “last match” in WWE – perhaps there will be another last match for Goldberg in AEW.

With AEW having demonstrated with the likes of Sting and Bryan Danielson that retirement runs can work to honor the legacy of a wrestler – there could be an enticing offer to join the brand.

Although it is unclear exactly what the future holds for Goldberg, Tony Khan has referenced him in the past as someone he would be open to working with in AEW.

While only time will tell if Goldberg has truly hung up his boots, fans may see him retire again – this time in AEW.

5. Brie Bella

While WWE fans have continued to wait patiently for an appearance from Brie Bella in WWE – no such luck.

However, while Bella has speculated perhaps she has yet to “get the call” from WWE related to husband Bryan Danielson’s role in AEW – perhaps Tony Khan will make a call.

Unlike WWE where she would have a built in storyline with twin sister Nikki Bella, it is up in the air what Brie would get up to in AEW.

Able to serve as an on-screen authority, the WWE Hall of Famer could lead a faction or even try her hand at commentary – there are some ways to make it work!

4. Rikishi

One WWE legend who remains vocal about his opinions on the product is Rikishi.

The real-life father of Bloodline members Jimmy & Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa isn’t shy about sharing his opinions about the on-screen happenings with the family on his podcast.

While it is unlikely that he may elect to defect to AEW – it seems in professional wrestling there is a surprise around every corner.

Perhaps not probable – the prospect is technically possible and would be an achievement for AEW.

3. Ronda Rousey

Since departing WWE in October 2023 following a second run with the company, Rousey has seemingly not given up on wrestling entirely.

Making notable appearances with real life pal Marina Shafir, Rousey even had a match on Ring of Honor.

With the potential that Shayna Baszler could find herself in AEW, a logical third deadly force for she & Shafir could be Ronda Rousey.

Coming out of retirement to even have a short run in AEW could prove to be an iconic way for Rousey to get back into the ring.

2. Kurt Angle

Recently announced as set to participate in a new promotion – Real American Freestyle Wrestling – helmed by Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, Kurt Angle was already set for an on-screen return.

After the passing of Hulk Hogan, the promotion has vowed to continue and is still scheduled for their first event on August 30.

While an actual in-ring return seems unlikely, Angle still is a fan favorite that people love to see.

If Kurt Angle were to become available, he would be a tremendous get for AEW.

1. Mick Foley

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley remains among the most beloved personalities in professional wrestling.

While he has ruled out an in-ring return – it doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a delightful on-screen character.

Able to be an authority figure, manager or just simply mentor – Foley would be a very fun character to see pop in and out of AEW.

With his depth of connection with audiences and iconic skills on the microphone, Foley would be the biggest snag for AEW yet.
