There are a variety of different legendary names that have been working closely with WWE as of late.

While these legends make appearances for special occasions, WWE could bring them back into the company as managers.

Using the star power and name recognition of these iconic talents to prop up current stars would help to elevate young up-and-comers in a major way moving forward.

Here are seven WWE legends to potentially return and manage current stars.

7. AJ Styles

At WWE Royal Rumble 2026, GUNTHER defeated AJ Styles to retire “The Phenomenal One” from his in-ring career.

Then on the February 23 edition of Monday Night Raw, Styles officially said his farewell to the fans and the company with an emotional tribute and being announced for the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

While he will join the elite line-up of talent in the Hall of Fame, WWE could sign Styles to a Legends deal that allows him to have a continued role with the promotion.

Styles returning as a manager could help some of his former friends, opponents or tag team partners, such as Dragon Lee, Je’Von Evans or Leon Slater in the future.

6. The Undertaker

The Undertaker is someone who has been making occasional appearances usually to announce legends entering the WWE Hall of Fame.

Whether it be Stephanie McMahon or AJ Styles, Taker making these announcements has been great use of “The Deadman.”

Besides those announcements, Taker has also been working as a backstage creative member for the Lucha Libre AAA promotion.

With an active role in the company, it might mean something if Taker chooses someone like Shiloh Hill to be his manager and help guide him to the top of WWE.

5. Ric Flair

When looking at the list of legends outside of WWE right now, Ric Flair has more than enough experience as a manager.

“The Nature Boy” returned to WWE in 2001 and a few years later, Flair became the manager of Triple H and then the rest of Evolution.

With Flair by his side, “The Game” dominated WWE for several years and might be able to do the same for a current star on the roster.

Whether it be Charlotte Flair or a rising star on WWE NXT, Flair could add a lot to the presentation of one of the names on the roster right now if he returns as a manager.

Back at WWE Evolution 2025, Trish Stratus made her in-ring return in a losing effort against Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship.

While every time she steps in the ring Stratus proves that she can still go and has a lot left in the tank, it feels like there are other ways to use the WWE Hall of Famer.

Stratus becoming a manager would be interesting and create some intriguing storylines in the weeks and months to come.

Becoming the cornerperson for someone like Tiffany Stratton or Blake Monroe, Stratus could craft a whole new legacy for herself as a manager in the near future.

While he entered WWE as an Olympic Gold Medalist, no one expected Kurt Angle to take to pro wrestling as quickly as he did.

Becoming one of the most decorated and accomplished in-ring performers of his generation, Angle has left a litany of instant classics and memorable moments throughout his career.

The former multi-time WWE World Champion is someone who also proved himself to be an entertaining character and one of the best talkers of his era.

Angle using his charisma to assist the likes of Chad Gable, Tavion Heights or Tyra Mae Steele could take these names to the next level in WWE in a significant way.

Chris Jericho is someone who is known as one of the greatest talkers in pro wrestling history.

Showing his ability to play different characters and roles, Jericho could greatly enhance the presentation of someone on the WWE roster today.

Over the past year, there has been some discussion if Jericho is about to leave All Elite Wrestling and could go on to return to WWE at some point.

Jericho returning to WWE and becoming a manager could help someone on the rise like Sol Ruca or Keanu Carver by helping give them credibility to the main roster audience.

1. The Rock

Over the past few years, The Rock has made his returns to WWE where he has added a great deal to the company and brought major attention to the Road to WrestleMania.

While he stepped back in the ring in 2024, The Rock has mostly been an on-screen character that has brought more eyes to the WWE product.

“The Final Boss” has generational microphone skills that could elevate any star that WWE wants to propel to superstardom.

Whether it be Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa or Ethan Page, The Rock would be an excellent manager that could truly help the future of WWE in a meaningful way.
