In 2025, WWE inducted a match into the Hall of Fame for the first time with Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Bret “The Hitman” Hart in a Submission Match from WrestleMania 13 was honored as an “Immortal Moment.”
This year, it seems like the company will once again be celebrating another bout during the WWE Hall of Fame 2026 ceremony.
Wanting to switch it up a bit, WWE could honor a championship match with an induction in the hallowed Halls in Las Vegas.
Here are eight championship matches to potentially be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame 2026.
8. Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch in a Winner Takes All Match for the WWE Raw & SmackDown Women’s Championships (WrestleMania 35)
The Women’s Revolution saw the female stars in WWE being used on a similar level and stature to that of the male counterparts in the company.
Given all the historic matches and moments that happened during that time, most pale in comparison to WWE having the women headline WrestleMania for the first time ever.
In 2019, Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch battled over all the main roster women’s gold in a Winner Takes All Match that headlined WrestleMania 35.
With all eyes on the three ladies, Ronda, Charlotte and Becky made history, putting women’s wrestling on a different level that is still talked about to this day and deserves to be honored in the Hall of Fame.

7. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship (WrestleMania 39)

Charlotte Flair has put on some memorable championship bouts during her illustrious career in WWE.
In 2023, Flair came into WrestleMania 39 as the SmackDown Women’s Champion and looked to defend her gold against Women’s Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley.
Not only was championship gold on the line, Ripley was looking to get revenge on Flair after dropping the NXT Championship to “The Queen” at WrestleMania 36 three years prior.
Over the course of nearly 24 minutes, Flair and Ripley put on an instant classic that is still highly regarded today and feels worthy of a WWE Hall of Fame 2026 induction.

6. Bret Hart vs. The British Bulldog for the WWE Intercontinental Championship (SummerSlam 1992)

When it comes to fondly remembered bouts, there aren’t many that hold the reverence of Bret Hart vs. The British Bulldog from SummerSlam 1992.
The 1992 edition of the summer spectacle took place from Wembley Stadium in London, England.
In front of over 80,000 fans in attendance, Hart and Bulldog put on a clinic with the chemistry between the two men being off the charts.
While both men are inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as singles performers, it feels like this SummerSlam 1992 main event would be fitting for an induction this year in Las Vegas.

5. Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James for the WWE Women’s Championship (WrestleMania 22)

Before the rise of women’s wrestling in WWE, many fans considered Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James to be one of the greatest women’s title matches in WrestleMania history.
In 2006, Stratus defended the WWE Women’s Championship against her former protegè James in the culmination of a months-long rivalry between the two ladies.
James and Stratus delivered a strong bout that saw the challenger walk out with the gold.
Wanting to celebrate two of the greatest women’s wrestlers in WWE history, Mickie and Trish deserve to be among the elite talent in the Hall of Fame class of 2026.

4. Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon in a Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship (WrestleMania X)

The Ladder Match has become one of the signature matches in WWE over the past 30 years.
A lot of that comes down to the quality of the first Ladder Match that took place at WrestleMania when Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon battled to determine the Undisputed Intercontinental Champion.
With two titles hanging high above the ring, Ramon and Michaels put on a high risk spectacle in front of a sold-out crowd in Madison Square Garden at WWE WrestleMania X that left everyone in awe.
The legend of this match has only grown over the past 30 years and considering both Razor and HBK are considered all-time greats as well as WWE Hall of Famers in their own right, inducting the Ladder Match from WrestleMania X seems long overdue.

3. Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship (WrestleMania 37)

While Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch made history as the first women to headline WrestleMania, they are not the only female stars to do so in the event’s history.
Just two years after that landmark bout, Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks became the first African American women to close out a WrestleMania event.
In a battle over the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Belair and Banks knew how important this match was for themselves as well as fans that look like them.
Leaving memories that are fondly remembered by the fanbase, Sasha and Bianca left their mark on WrestleMania 37 and might just be the best women’s title bout to honor in the WWE Hall of Fame 2026.

2. Triple H vs. Cactus Jack in a Street Fight for the WWE Championship (Royal Rumble 2000)

Madison Square Garden, also known as “The World’s Most Famous Arena”, has seen some of the greatest championship matches in WWE history.
One such example took place at Royal Rumble 2000 when Triple H defended the WWE Championship against Cactus Jack in a Street Fight.
Proving to be one of the most brutal and bloody wars to ever take place in MSG, “The Game” and “The Hardcore Legend” fought tooth and nail to settle their longtime grudge with one another and walk out as WWE Champion.
Considered to be among both men’s best matches of their careers, WWE could honor Triple H and Mick Foley for their amazing effort from Royal Rumble 2000 with a Hall of Fame 2026 induction.

1. The Rock vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship (WrestleMania 29)

In 2011, The Rock made his return to WWE and immediately kickstarted a rivalry with John Cena. One year later, the two megastars did battle in an “Once In A Lifetime” showdown at WrestleMania 28.
While The Rock came out victorious on this occasion, things were not fully settled and only escalated from there.
After The Rock won the WWE Championship, it was Cena who got the victory in the 2013 Royal Rumble, which meant a rematch with his rival.
In one of the highest grossing WrestleMania headliners of all time, Cena and Rock broke records together once again in their battle for the WWE Championship, which should be praised and celebrated in the Hall of Fame sooner rather than later.
