After an eventful episode of WWE SmackDown for the last edition before Elimination Chamber, there have been some big changes.
From matches that seemed to be teased to other storylines that have seemingly been scrapped entirely, there have been some alterations ahead of WWE Elimination Chamber 2026.
Here are five WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 matches that ended up canceled.
5. Bronson Reed & Jey Uso Removed From Elimination Chamber

There were two late changes to the men’s WWE Elimination Chamber match in the week leading up to the event.
Firstly, Bronson Reed was planned to win his qualifier on Raw against Jey Uso and The Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable), but due to Reed suffering an injury during the match, WWE had to change plans for Uso to win.
However, on SmackDown, WWE then removed Uso from the match by having him attacked backstage and taken away in an ambulance.
In the main event of SmackDown, Logan Paul defeated Jacob Fatu in a match to determine who would take Uso’s spot in the Chamber.

4. Carmelo Hayes vs. Ilja Dragunov

While Carmelo Hayes has continued to host open challenges on WWE SmackDown, one opponent who he has accused of hiding from him is Ilja Dragunov.
With Dragunov looking to go to the back of the line for a title opportunity rather than challenge Melo straight away, there could be some fun matches to highlight a variety of stars against Ilja on the road to WrestleMania 42.
With no reason to rush into their feud, there would end up being no titles on the line from SmackDown on the Elimination Chamber card.
In a bout that could certainly be saved for WrestleMania 42, it would definitely seem that Hayes vs Dragunov for the United States Championship may be set to happen in Las Vegas.

3. Bron Breakker vs. CM Punk

It would have seemed that one potential stop on the road to WrestleMania 42 would be for a member of The Vision to still attempt to take out CM Punk before Las Vegas.
However, with Bron Breakker and subsequently Bronson Reed being described as “out of action indefinitely” due to injury, there have been plenty of re-writes.
Punk will instead be taking on Finn Balor in his hometown of Chicago, a match that is sure to be a showcase of the two legendary talents.
With Punk’s opponent for WrestleMania 42 set in Roman Reigns, there could definitely end up being a surprise return that spoils the hometown victory, but it seems at this point more likely to be a returning Seth Rollins before Bron Breakker.

2. The Usos vs. The Vision (Logan Paul & Austin Theory)

It seemed possible that there could be a new tag team feud brewing ahead of the last premium live event before WrestleMania 42 – particularly as a final stop before Las Vegas.
While The Usos continue to hold the World Tag Team Championship, they have defended it twice in their over 60 day reign, once against another combination of Vision members – Austin Theory and Bronson Reed.
With Reed out of action “indefinitely” due to an injury sustained on the February 23 episode of WWE Raw, Jey Uso would end up winning the qualifying match only to fall victim himself – being attacked off-screen ahead of WWE SmackDown going on-air, with the suspiciously timed arrival of Logan Paul and Austin Theory.
Paul ended up beating Jacob Fatu to take Uso’s spot in the match, so The Vision vs The Usos could be a direction for WrestleMania.

1. Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu

After continued prodding of Jacob Fatu, it would have been easy enough to have Drew McIntyre square off against Fatu although headed into the go-home show, no such match had been announced.
However, because SmackDown on February 27 saw Jey Uso get taken out of action and away from the arena in an ambulance, there would be a qualifying match in the show’s main event.
With Jacob Fatu getting another shot at entering the Elimination Chamber when he took on Logan Paul, in the end it would ultimately be The Vision that squeaked out the victory with some help from Drew McIntyre.
Since McIntyre hit Fatu with the Undisputed WWE Championship belt and ended up costing him the match, it is Logan Paul who will advance to the Elimination Chamber match. Meanwhile, it certainly seems as though a triple-threat could be looming for McIntyre at WrestleMania 42 as Fatu is unlikely to back down.
