Predicting The Next 5 Undisputed WWE Champions

Share

WWE Champions John Cena and Randy Orton

John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 41 to become the Undisputed WWE Champion.

Cena claims he will hold the title until the end of the year when he retires, but there’ll be plenty of people looking to take it away from him along the way.

Here are our predictions for the next five Undisputed WWE Champions.

Randy Orton

WWE Champion John Cena and Randy Orton

After sneaking up on John Cena on the WWE Raw after WrestleMania 41 and delivering an RKO, it seems that Randy Orton is next in line to attempt to topple Cena.

The match will likely take place at WWE Backlash, which is in Orton’s hometown of St Louis, Missouri. Orton and Cena may go back and forth for a bit before Randy captures the title, perhaps with a little help from some outside forces.

Since it seems as though Seth Rollins is creating his own faction and will likely prove integral in storylines moving forward, he might be involved in an eventual betrayal of John Cena.

In the end, Orton would obviously rebuff any advances to join their alliance, even if they did give him a helping hand, leading to a feud with Rollins.

Seth Rollins

WWE stars Bron Breakker, Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman

Some fans have speculated that there could be a reveal that sees The Rock working with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman. While the Final Boss would be pulling the strings, it would still technically be Seth Rollins’ championship to win.

It would be fun to see at least an in-ring interview segment featuring The Rock and Randy Orton together though during this scenario, while we have the chance.

Nevertheless, by the time that Orton makes is through the gauntlet of his challenges, Rollins would end up lying, cheating or stealing his way into winning the Undisputed WWE Championship from him.

Although he got a boost to get there, Rollins would still have to fend off challengers like bitter enemies CM Punk and morally outraged rivals like Sami Zayn, but he would likely survive.

Roman Reigns

Backing up to a separate potential scenario, Roman Reigns could win the 2025 Money in the Bank ladder match, thereby setting up months of him being able to terrorize his mortal enemy, Seth Rollins.

While Rollins was working with The Rock all along, Roman Reigns had been abandoned by both The Final Boss and Paul Heyman, so he is free to be a menacing babyface to Rollins.

Causing near misses and confusion for a bit may grow tiresome for Roman Reigns, so eventually he would cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase on Rollins and claim victory.

He could eventually reclaim the title after some sort of help from a babyface like Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn or Randy Orton coming back to haunt Rollins.

The Rock

Getting back around to Roman Reigns taking on The Rock in a massive match, the buzz around this one would be something to behold.

With the babyfaces seemingly now fighting their last fights for the soul of WWE to remain pure, if The Rock comes out on top to create the WWE universe’s Thanos snap moment – it would seem like all hope is lost.

Saving such heartbreak for perhaps the 2026 Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, having a marquee international match checks a lot of boxes. but primarily, the fans in attendance can be displeased but it would be unlikely to cause the havoc that the same ending would in any other crowd.

But all hope is never lost – there would be another giant plot point at the Rumble that would bring it all together…

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes will have made a triumphant return at some point and engaged in some other feuding – probably Bron Breakker or another member of Seth Rollins’ squad – but will have never targeted or won any other title.

Rhodes would enter and win the Royal Rumble, making history and joining Stone Cold Steve Austin as the only other WWE star in history to win the match three times.

He challenges The Rock, and we end up back around at Cody Rhodes vs The Rock for WrestleMania 42 with Rock taking the credit for having masterminded this entire ordeal and reminding Cody that he could have just skipped the entire year of trials and tribulations if he would just have sold his soul.

Roman Reigns could end up costing The Rock in the end, helping Cody to win and cementing the pair as a working albeit shaky alliance of WWE’s two biggest stars.
