CM Punk at WWE WrestleMania 42

We’ve seen a number of iconic themes brought back at WWE shows in recent years, fuelling speculation about other tracks we could see return in the future.

Between Broken Dreams being used for part of Drew McIntyre’s entrance at Clash At The Castle 2022, and WWE using Miseria Cantare – The Beginning for the start of CM Punk’s walk-out at WrestleMania 42, there have been a number of occasions over the past few years where fans couldn’t believe what they were hearing.

From stars who have previously stated it’s their goal to use their independent scene entrance music, to legends who could bring back iconic themes, there are a number of stars who could be next to give fans a blast from the past.

Here are three stars who could bring back their old entrance themes.

Matt Cardona – When The Lights Go Down

Following his previous WWE run coming to an end in 2020, Matt Cardona debuted “When The Lights Go Down” as his independent entrance theme, with Downstait creating the song just for him.

Cardona recently stated that it’s his goal to have this track play one day in WWE, noting that he wasn’t allowed to use that theme when he officially returned to the company in January.

While the former “Zack Ryder” wasn’t able to keep these as his regular entrance theme, we could see him use it for a one-off, for example for a big championship match in the future.

With Cody Rhodes’ Kingdom also created by Downstait, it’d be fun to hear the band behind many previous WWE themes have more of a presence with the current WWE product.

Roman Reigns – Special Op (The Shield’s theme)

While Seth Rollins has brought back The Shield’s entrance theme on several occasions to taunt Roman Reigns, we could soon see Reigns use the song himself, now that he has exercised his demons.

With the OTC refusing to strike Seth Rollins with a steel chair during their World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam, and fist-bumping Rollins after the bout, it appears that Reigns has finally made peace with his Shield past.

With that resentment gone, we could see Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins stand on the same side of the ring soon, for example at Survivor Series: WarGames, which the Tribal Chief has been advertised for.

If Rollins and Reigns do team up in the future, it’d be a full-circle moment to see the OTC enter to “Special Op”.

Randy Orton – Burn in My Light

While Randy Orton’s “Voices” entrance theme is iconic for a reason, many fans would feel nostalgic if WWE brought back “Burn In My Light” for a show or short run.

Despite Orton not using Burn In My Light as his main entrance music in almost two decades, the song is still extremely popular, with there recent edits of present-day Orton entering to that song going viral on social media.

With The Viper being in the latter stage of his career, we could see him bring this track back while taking a trip down memory lane, ahead of his eventual retirement.

With big matches against the likes of Cody Rhodes on the cards for the future, there will be a number of occasions in the future for WWE to bring this iconic theme back.
