6 WWE Acts That Could Compete In Other Promotions In 2024

Earlier this week GCW shocked the world by announcing Shayna Baszler for their WrestleMania weekend Bloodsport X show.

This is a fresh move for WWE as lending one of their stars to an American independent promotion is very rare.

For wrestling itself it is an amazing announcement. More fresh matches with the biggest promotion in town getting into the mix.We can only hope this won’t be the last time as many more names could benefit from performing in a different environment.

Before Baszler started this trend Charlie Dempsey competed at All Japan Pro Wrestling, so maybe a glimpse into the future for 2024.

Whether it be during WrestleMania weekend or at another point in time…

6. Drew Gulak & No Quarter Catch Crew to GCW/Bloodsport

Speaking of Dempsey… He and his stablemates could surely make an appearance elsewhere as more talent is expected to be announced as part WWE’s new path of engagement with other promotions.

The reigning NXT Heritage Cup Champions Dempsey, Drew Gulak, Damon Kemp, and Myles Borne as ready-made for the indie scene.

Their style matches perfectly with the Bloodsport/GCW nature.

Gulak himself is an experienced indy-darling and Dempsey simply has Catch-As-Catch-Can wrestling in his blood, being the son of William Regal.

Lastly, the “Catch Point” stable of Drew Gulak used to be a force in EVOLVE Wrestling. It is safe to say Gulak wants to do the same once more in today’s indy world.

5. Shinsuke Nakamura to Pro Wrestling NOAH

NOAH is the hottest Japanese wrestling promotion besides NJPW.

Their talent competes all around the world, making a name for themselves. Just like Nakamura used to do.

Last year Nakamura made a cameo at NOAH beating the legendary Great Muta.

So it is not out of the realm of possibility for Nakamura to return once more to battle the likes of YOICHI, Hedeki Suzuki or even ECW legend Masato Tanaka.

4. IYO SKY to Rossy Ogawa’s New Promotion

As you probably heard on Friday’s WrestleTalk News, Rossy Ogawa is speculated to be founding a new promotion.

The founder of STARDOM is apparently looking to form a working relationship with WWE.

Although these are just rumours for now, Ogawa needs a big-time announcement to launch that new Women’s Wrestling promotion, doesn’t he?

Insert WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY. She is a former multi-time champion in STARDOM and the perfect name to put on Ogawa’s first show.

3. New Catch Republic to RevPro

This one would send shockwaves through the entire wrestling world.

RevPro has a close working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling and recently even had AEW president Tony Khan in the crowd, watching Will Ospreay vs. Michael Oku.

In addition, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate are more of PROGRESS team, where they used to wrestle as BRITISH STRONG STYLE.

However, this is a new era. For Bate and Dunne, for WWE and for British wrestling. RevPro is undoubtedly the biggest player in town and the place where a New Catch Republic cameo could make the biggest impact.

2. Joe Gacy to CZW

Joe Gacy and Combat Zone Wrestling go together like bread and butter.

Gacy is one of the biggest stars in the company’s history and a former 3-time World Champion over there. On top of that Gacy is still pretty much the same Gacy as he was back in CZW.

A cameo match against CZW’s new generation would only make sense.

There is only one homecoming that would probably be received with a louder crowd reaction…

1. GUNTHER & IMPERIUM to wXw

The Mat Is Sacred. This slogan originated in Westside Xtreme Wrestling in Germany.

This is the place record Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER and Ludwig Kaiser perfected their craft before coming over to WWE. Giovanni Vinci never competed in wXw, but it is about time he does.

During WrestleMania weekend the trio could encounter the team of AMBOSS, wXw World Champion Robert Dreissker and 16 Carat Winner Laurance Roman.

The pro wrestling excellence of Europe encountering the pro wrestling excellence of WWE.

Maybe a first glimpse of what could be in store was GUNTHER, Kaiser & Vinci vs. the full group of Dreissker, Roman and Icarus would be a dream match.

Besides that, the individual members of IMPERIUM could clash with the new breed in wXw like Elijah Blum, Hardcore Legend Nick Schreier and Levaniel.

Their former stable mates Alexander Wolfe (Axel Tischer) and Timothy Thatcher, the latter has just been announced for the World Tag Team Festival in autumn, are waiting for them.
