From former TNA World Champions to free agents — there are some intriguing names that WWE could pick up from TNA’s past and present legends.

Here are six potential TNA Wrestling legends that could sign with WWE.

6. Kurt Angle

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle

Although widely remembered for his work in WWE, Kurt Angle also had a legendary run in TNA Wrestling.

While Angle has made limited on-screen appearances in WWE as of late, most recently being spotted ringside at the Royal Rumble 2025 — Angle had previously noted he enjoyed his life away from the spotlight.

However, with a recent return to the public as a part owner and color commentator for the Hulk Hogan founded promotion, Real American Freestyle Wrestling — Kurt Angle might find that he has enjoyed being back in the action.

Certainly able to re-sign with WWE and contribute in a number of major ways — a return from the Olympian would be very fun for fans of his WWE and TNA work alike.

5. Matt & Jeff Hardy

Two TNA Wrestling stars that seem bound for a return to WWE in the near future are the Hardy Boyz, Matt and Jeff Hardy.

After historic careers that have spanned across companies and decades, it may be nearing the time for the pair of high flyers to hang up their boots for good — after one final run in WWE.

Seemingly shoo-ins to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at some point in the near future, it would be great to see the Hardys return ‘home’ to WWE before retirement.

Having recently commented that their current TNA Wrestling contracts end in November 2025, it could be that a big return from Matt and Jeff Hardy is coming to WWE even sooner than we would think.

One TNA legend that was released from the TNA Wrestling brand in 2025 — a move that surprised fans and reportedly some talent — is Gail Kim.

With previous stints in WWE before and after spending time in TNA Wrestling, Kim’s acknowledgements are undeniable.

Kim continues to weigh in on general wrestling topics on social media, sharing her opinion that she supports “wrestlers/talent” above any specific company.

Seemingly able to provide valuable insight to the next generation of women looking to advance the industry, perhaps Gail Kim will find herself a role in WWE in the future.

3. Matt Cardona

Former WWE star Matt Cardona at Impact Wrestling

Appearing recently on NXT to much fan fervor, it would seem that TNA Wrestling star Matt Cardona could find himself re-signing with WWE in the near future.

With ready-made conflict afoot since Cardona’s real life wife Chelsea Green has recently been partnering on-screen in NXT with ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page — there could be a big reason for the pair to feud soon.

With Green and Page set to challenge for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship, it could be that by the time Cardona returns to the main roster, he could be the odd-man out!

Able to bring not only his in-ring excellence but his impeccable character work back to WWE, Cardona would be a solid snag for the company the released him five years ago.

2. Eric Young

One legend from TNA Wrestling is 2x TNA Wrestling World Champion, Eric Young.

While Young has numerous other accolades in the brand, he continues in active competition in TNA Wrestling.

After having previously been signed to WWE in 2022 but the departing again in 2023 before debuting, it does seem as though things are copacetic between Young and the brand.

Recently appearing on NXT as a part of the TNA Wrestling invasion on NXT, the former NXT Tag Team Champion made an impact in the showdown. Potentially re-signing with NXT in the future, the veteran star would be a great addition to any locker room.

1. Frankie Kazarian

A TNA legend that would be a snag for WWE to sign as a current in-ring talent but that could make a huge difference in a behind the scenes role as well is Frankie Kazarian.

Popping up on WWE recently in the TNA Wrestling invasion angle, Kazarian demonstrated that even as a long-time industry veteran — he can still go.

Recently engaged in a brutal series with Steve Maclin over the TNA Wrestling International Championship, Kazarian captured the gold from Maclin only to lose it back to him.

Making for a solid addition to NXT, Kazarian could serve as a leader both on-screen and behind the scenes if he wanted to sign with WWE in preparation to potentially slow down in his career.
