On September 4, WWE will host the first ever Sunday Night’s Main Event show from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA.
The show currently has four matches advertised: Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton, Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker, Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab vs. Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley and the WWE in-ring debut of Lil Yachty, who takes on United States Champion Baron Corbin.
As well as the advertised matches, we could also see some unexpected surprises take place throughout the night.
Here are three surprises we could see at Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Bronson Reed Returns, Helps Bron Breakker Defeat Oba Femi
It has now been over six months since Bronson Reed suffered a torn bicep during an Elimination Chamber qualifying match back in February, but it appears as if the wait for his return may soon be over.
Reed is reportedly expected to make his return “very soon” and recently posted a video of himself at WWE HQ in Stamford, CT.
With ‘The Auszilla’ looking in tremendous shape, it appears as if we could be set to see the best version of Bronson Reed yet, which will certainly be good news for The Vision, and Bron Breakker in particular.
The Vision have had some rotten luck with injuries over the past year, but Reed’s return could help them get back to a position of power. And there would be no greater statement than Bron Breakker defeating Oba Femi at Sunday Night’s Main Event, even if it does come due to a major assist from a returning Bronson Reed.
Drew McIntyre Returns
Not since his loss to Jacob Fatu at WWE WrestleMania 42 have fans seen ‘The Scottish Warrior’ Drew McIntyre.
In his absence, the former Undisputed WWE Champion has been away filming several movie roles, but fans remain hopeful that his return to SmackDown will be near.
McIntyre has plenty reason to still be mad at Cody Rhodes after ‘The American Nightmare’ took away his WrestleMania 42 Night One main event match against Randy Orton, so perhaps we see that feud pick back up in Atlanta on Sunday.
McIntyre rejoining the already very busy Undisputed WWE Title picture would certainly be a headache for Nick Aldis, but it would make for some exciting viewing heading into the fall months.
Paul Heyman Aligns With Oba Femi Over Bron Breakker
Paul Heyman’s growing disinterest in any and all things related to The Vision has left the WWE Hall of Famer in an interesting position heading into Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Will he remain aligned with Bron Breakker and resume his role as ‘The Oracle’ for The Vision? Or will he abandon ship once and for all by instead siding with Oba Femi.
Femi and Heyman seemingly have new found respect for one another after ‘The Ruler’ retired Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2026, and Paul’s relationship with Femi has clearly gotten under the skin of Breakker heading into Sunday Night’s Main Event.
It feels as if the doubts regarding Heyman and Breakker’s allegiance are more likely to lead to WWE subverting expectations and keeping the pair together. However, the more exciting option is certainly an allegiance between Femi and Heyman. Not only would it be a fitting continuation from Heyman and Lesnar’s relationship, but it would also make things even more interesting when Femi and Roman Reigns eventually meet.
