The Almighty era has finally begun as Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship from The Miz.
With Lashley as Champion, the Road to WrestleMania is still treacherous and unpredictable. Notably, the last few weeks have hectically changed what we theorized to happen at the Showcase of the Immortals. Therefore, there is plenty of time for continual changes to happen before the road ends for another year.
One thing that is for sure though, is that when Lashley made the A-Lister tap, he won over the hearts of many WWE fans. It is a long time coming and there are many people who would enjoy seeing Lashley have a dominant run past WrestleMania.
Here are ‘Six WWE Stars That Should Face Bobby Lashley For The WWE Championship’:
6. Drew McIntyre

First and foremost, Drew McIntyre is the most likely to face Bobby Lashley on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
It has been reported that his vicious rivalry with Sheamus will be culminating at WWE Fastlane. Eagerly, this means McIntyre’s schedule is open for ‘Mania 37.
With Lashley being on one of his best runs alongside the Hurt Business, and McIntyre desperate to get his title back, this storyline should be intense to the highest proportions.
Their Backlash encounter last year was pretty fun, so fighting on a larger stage should be even better.
However, if I had it my way, I’d set the match to happen at SummerSlam this year. Have Lashley power his way through the competition then, finally, McIntyre can triumph in front of fans.
5. AJ Styles

With Lashley on a face run as of sorts, AJ Styles would be the best challenger to prove his might.
Ultimately, Styles’ future plans in WWE are unknown. Plus, it is a mystery if he will get the chance to win the WWE Championship again.
On the other hand, he can put on a dramatic storyline with anyone he grapples with. Lashley vs. Styles is not a match we want but a match we need.
The counter-attacks these guys could pull off in a one-on-one bout would be unimaginable. Also, witnessing the strength of Lashley going head-to-shoulder with the towering Omos would be a sight to behold.
4. Mustafa Ali

The career of Mustafa Ali has been a dwindling one and it is sad to watch.
He joined the SmackDown roster in late 2018 and was a hot, upcoming babyface that shined with talent. He had gravity-defying matches with the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles.
Where did it all go wrong?
Was it when he suffered his grueling eye injury from Randy Orton which resulted in him being removed from the Elimination Chamber match that kickstarted KofiMania? Or perhaps it was when he was reportedly penciled to win the Money In The Bank contract before Brock Lesnar – who wasn’t even in the match – waltzed up the ladder and won the whole thing?
This then led to Ali falling into a pit of darkness and becoming the leader of Retribution. Who, with goofy names and many losses under their belts, aren’t the homerun faction WWE thought they would be.
Nevertheless, Ali has shown his worth on the main roster and definitely deserves to be coronated with the WWE Championship one day. Scrap the heel run and his lousy stable. Give him the heroic gimmick who impersonates Iron Man again. Then let him prove to the world that he is one of the most under-utilized guys on the roster by overcoming the odds and winning the title from the Almighty, Bobby Lashley.
3. Big E

Big E is the current Intercontinental Champion and seems to be having a party every Friday on SmackDown. However, the clock for his title reign could be ticking down as many believe Apollo Crews will beat him soon. Recently, Crews debuted a royal heel gimmick, indulging in his Nigerian heritage.
Many think Big E is deserving of the main event spot and his singles run should be parallel to his New Day brother, Kofi Kingston winning the championship a few years back. Although, a win this monumental will not be likely against the Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, who is defending his prestigious strap against the Royal Rumble winner, Edge at WrestleMania.
Therefore, if Big E wants to climb to the top of the ladder, he has to move over to Raw – reunite with the New Day – and challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship.
This would actually tie into the story as lately, Lashley’s Hurt Business partners, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, have been feuding with Kingston and Woods. This could lead to the New Day dripping in gold, with Woods and Kingston as Raw Tag Team Champions and Big E as our WWE Champion.
Ultimately, it would benefit the company as a whole as they continue to push towards diversity. Lashley is only the third black WWE Champion, behind Kingston and The Rock.
2. Keith Lee

Keith Lee has had a strange and questionable main roster run thus far.
He started off strong, battling it out with Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton, unleashing his talent in the WWE Championship story.
Then remarkably he kept fans talking with notable involvements in McIntyre and Sheamus’ feud. Despite getting no big wins or storyline directions, Lee was one of the largest stars of Monday nights for the latter half of last year.
Additionally, he was set for a huge United States Championship triple threat match at Elimination Chamber against Lashley and Riddle. Unfortunately, due to an “undisclosed injury”, Lee was limited to sitting at home that evening and John Morrison took his place. Furthermore, the match was won by Riddle, however, YouTube videos of his glorious win had words like “bask in his glory” in the title… Catchphrases that Keith Lee has made famous.
Does this mean if it wasn’t for this injury, Lee would be on our screens as the United States Champion right now?
It is too hard to tell but what we do know is that we missed our chance to see the meaty encounter between Lee and Lashley.
Unless Lashley defends his WWE Championship against Lee once he is 100%. Now that is a main event feud that’ll be limitless throughout.
1. Brock Lesnar

Finally, the match that lives in everyone’s mind is the dream match between Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar.
It has always been mentioned that Lashley signed his WWE contract under the terms that he would face Brock Lesnar one day. It is WWE’s version of The Hulk vs. Thanos. They have never fought but due to their awesome MMA backgrounds, we have always wanted to see them Hulk out.
This was close to just being another false-promise on WWE’s behalf. Remarkably, that was until Lashley won the championship. With Lashley holding WWE’s largest bounty, Lesnar won’t be far away.
Preferably, I’d love to see this exceptional match occur at WrestleMania 37. Give Lashley the stage and opponent to display his strength and might.
Let Lashley overcome the Beast. People don’t mind Brock unless he is the champ. His last few reigns have just proven that it is tiresome handing the belt to part-time competitors. Definitely after witnessing McIntyre heighten its prestige on Raw in the last year.
Plus, it’ll mean the eventual match with McIntyre can purely be built around both of them having ‘Mania wins over Lesnar.
Overall, Lashley certainly lives up to his Almighty name and it is delightful seeing him finally get this opportunity. Nevertheless, having him dominate the competition for a good portion of this year would make whoever beats The Almighty even mightier.
