Scrapped WWE Crown Jewel matches: Three bouts that were originally planned for the PLE

On Saturday, November 7, WWE will return to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the Crown Jewel 2026 premium live event.

Amid some controversy over the event taking place with the current travel advisories, there have been a lot of changes to the card for the show.

WWE has had to remove and replace several different bouts that were originally planned for their latest PLE.

Here are three scrapped WWE Crown Jewel 2026 matches that were originally planned for the event.

The Vision (Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed & Austin Theory) vs. Penta, Je’Von Evans & Oba Femi

Following WWE SummerSlam 2026, Oba Femi started a feud with The Vision on Monday Night Raw.

This led to Femi defeating Bronson Reed at WWE Money In The Bank 2026. After this win, Femi stated that he was done with The Vision.

However, The Vision have found new enemies on Raw in the form of Je’Von Evans and Penta.

New reports have indicated that WWE Crown Jewel 2026 was originally planned to have a trios match with Femi teaming with Penta and Evans against The Vision, but now the babyface duo will face Bron Breakker and Austin Theory for the World Tag Team Championships on November 7 in Riyadh.

Finn Balor vs. GUNTHER

Since WWE SummerSlam 2026, Finn Balor has been feuding with GUNTHER as both men have had their sights on the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Despite feuding for months now, Balor and GUNTHER have not had a singles encounter as of yet.

There has been reports and posters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia that indicate that Balor was supposed to clash with GUNTHER at Crown Jewel 2026.

Considering there is just a week away before the show, it doesn’t seem like Balor and GUNTHER will be announced for the latest premium live event.

CM Punk vs. Kevin Owens

CM Punk and Kevin Owens have been at each other’s throats for months since feuding over the Undisputed WWE Championship.

At WWE Money In The Bank 2026, Punk and Owens cost each other the Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

Then on the October 23 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, GM Nick Aldis announced Owens will face Punk in a rematch on the November 6 episode from Brooklyn, New York.

With the match scheduled for the night before WWE Crown Jewel 2026, it feels like they were originally planned for the PLE before the change was made to deliver Punk vs. KO earlier.
