Major League Wrestling recently made a huge announcement when they revealed that NJPW star and current IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji will compete at the upcoming Saturday Night Superfight event on November 7.
It was then revealed that Tsuji will hold an open challenge against someone from the MLW roster.
With this major match announced, it should be interesting to see who will step up to face “The Gene Blast.”
Here are four MLW stars to potentially face NJPW’s Yota Tsuji at Saturday Night Superfight.
Matt Riddle
Since leaving WWE in 2023, Matt Riddle has made his home back in Major League Wrestling over the past two years.
In that time, Riddle became the MLW World Heavyweight Champion and cemented himself as a top star.
“The King of Bros” has been showcased as a featured act and could shine against Yota Tsuji at Superfight.
Giving Tsuji a different kind of opponent, Riddle will use his MMA background and years of experience inside the squared circle to take down the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
Brick Savage
One of the up-and-coming names on the MLW roster today is Brick Savage.
Standing at six foot, two inches and weighing over 330 pounds, Savage has solidified himself as a rising star.
Yota Tsuji has excelled against other heavyweights and would feel right at home against someone like Savage.
Getting what could be the biggest bout of his career, Savage will be able to display his skills and garner the spotlight against someone the stature of Tsuji at MLW Saturday Night Superfight.
Trevor Lee
After being released from WWE in 2024, many fans did not know what would be next for Cameron Grimes.
Returning to his original and real life name Trevor Lee, the former WWE star has since signed with Major League Wrestling.
Recently, Lee became the inaugural MLW Southern Crown Champion and might want another significant role.
With Yota Tsuji coming into MLW for Saturday Night Superfight, Lee feels like the perfect opponent to give him a show-stealing bout on the November 7 card.
Donovan Dijak
There is no denying that one of MLW’s biggest stars on the roster right now is Donovan Dijak.
Since leaving WWE, Dijak has traveled all over the world, but made his home in Major League Wrestling.
Just based on his experience and size, Dijak could match up extremely well against Yota Tsuji in every way.
Tsuji facing off with Dijak has all the makings of a dream match that would stand out at MLW Superfight.
