After a day of cryptic teases on social media, WWE has now officially revealed the first marketing material for the upcoming WrestleMania 42 event in Las Vegas in April.

With WrestleMania returning to Las Vegas following last year’s event, we may have already begun seeing a number of potential big matches planned to take place on the show be set up on television.

From returns to title changes, it’s time to look into the crystal ball six months into the future to see what exactly the landscape of WWE looks like heading into the event.

Here is our predicted card for WWE WrestleMania 42.

World Heavyweight Championship – CM Punk (c) vs. Bron Breakker

When Seth Rollins was forced to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship due to injury, many expected or hoped WWE would pull the trigger on Bron Breakker at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

However, the match at Saturday Night’s Main Event will instead see CM Punk battle Jey Uso for the vacant title, with it being reported that WWE still plans to anoint Breakker as World Champion later down the line.

With Seth out of the picture, the path seems pretty clear for Bron to bulldoze his way to a Royal Rumble victory, setting up a World Championship match with CM Punk for the show.

Bron getting his first World Title to close out WrestleMania would certainly be a big enough reason to have held off on his coronation.

Women’s World Championship – Rhea Ripley (c) vs. IYO SKY

Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY’s dynamic in the Raw women’s division has gone through a lot of growth throughout the course of the past year, but one thing remains sure; things are far from over between them.

While Rhea and IYO are best friends right now, we know this is wrestling and those things tend to not last, especially when a championship gets involved.

Rhea taking the championship back from Stephanie Vaquer seems like something we could see happen at the turn of the New Year, with Rhea taking the title into WrestleMania, defending the title against the woman she can not defeat.

The story, history and match quality between these two is more than enough to get the women another WrestleMania main event. It’s time.

WWE Women’s Championship – Jade Cargill (c) vs. Bianca Belair

WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair

Jade Cargill turned heel on last week’s episode of SmackDown, with her new attitude taking her into another WWE Women’s Championship match with Tiffany Stratton at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

If Jade falls short yet again, it would do serious damage to her credibility in the division, so we are almost surely looking at a new champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

With Jade sitting atop the division as a heel, there is one obvious opponent waiting in the wings for her; her former partner Bianca Belair, who has not competed since WrestleMania 41.

While Bianca may be ready to return before the Rumble, at this point I expect her to be held off until the show itself, winning the match to set up the dream clash with Jade at WrestleMania for the title.

WWE Championship – Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Randy Orton

Seth Rollins’ injury caused a lot of change to plans for WrestleMania 42, most notably around the World Heavyweight Championship, with CM Punk likely now factored into that title’s plans.

While Punk vs. Cody Rhodes has been a match long expected for WrestleMania for the WWE Championship, thankfully there is another story in the background that WWE can fall back on.

The story of Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes is one that many have been wanting to see ever since Cody returned to WWE in 2022, and WrestleMania next year could be the year we see it.

Randy Orton picking up the win in the Elimination Chamber, before turning on Cody that night, a year after John Cena did the same to Cody at the event, would kick things into motion.

Roman Reigns & Jacob Fatu vs. The Usos

Roman Reigns was reportedly slated for a match against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, but with Rollins now potentially out of the show, his family drama with his cousins has returned to the forefront of his mind.

Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso are both going through an identity crisis right now, and while WWE seems to be teasing a split between them, it will likely end up as a red herring, with both of them sticking together.

Jacob Fatu was also attacked on SmackDown to write him off due to dental surgery, and with Drew McIntyre, the voice of reason in the company, suggesting the attack may have been at the hands of Jimmy, his name is now bouncing around the minds of wrestling fans as the potential culprit.

We may well have another Bloodline Civil War on our hands here.

Brock Lesnar vs. Gunther

Prior to Seth Rollins’ injury, the most likely opponent for Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 would have been Bron Breakker, with Breakker putting the Beast down.

However, with the card potentially being restructured, Brock is now left open, giving WWE a chance to finally run a match they have been wanting to run for a long time.

Gunther and Brock Lesnar was a match expected to take place at both WrestleMania 39 and 40, but it never ended up coming to fruition.

With the Ring General likely not carrying a title into WrestleMania this year, and Lesnar also free, this could be the year we finally see these men face off.

Intercontinental Championship – Bronson Reed (c) vs. LA Knight

As Bron Breakker sets up his chase for the World Heavyweight Championship, the other members of the Vision will likely also have their eyes on gold.

Bronson Reed has also found himself heavily protected as part of the group, so him being in line for a run as the Intercontinental Champion is something that seems feasible for the Auszilla.

As for LA Knight, he remains at loggerheads with the Vision, and while his current target seems to be the World Heavyweight Championship, that path is blocked right now.

Giving Knight a feel good win on the show would be a nice bone to throw him.

United States Championship – Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

Ilja Dragunov has hit the SmackDown brand like a bullet since his return from injury, immediately taking the United States title from Sami Zayn in the open challenge.

Ilja has vowed to keep the open challenge going after capturing the belt, with him defending against Aleister Black most recently.

One man on SmackDown who has never held the United States Championship is Drew McIntyre, and while he is currently busy with Cody Rhodes, him chasing after Ilja in the future would be a nice change of pace for both men.

Drew completing his Grand Slam at the Grandest Stage would be a nice consolation prize should he not be World Champion again, which doesn’t seem likely at this point.

Women’s Intercontinental Championship – Becky Lynch (c) vs. AJ Lee

AJ Lee returned to the ring at Wrestlepalooza, where she ended up scoring the win for her and CM Punk against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.

Since then, we have not seen AJ on the show, and her name has barely been mentioned either, leading many to wonder when exactly her singles encounter with Becky will go down.

AJ and Becky are both reportedly slated to be part of the Women’s War Games match at Survivor Series, which is another multi-woman match to further continue on their rivalry.

As for the singles match, it seems we are waiting until April at this point.

Women’s United States Championship – Giulia (c) vs. Tiffany Stratton

Tiffany Stratton has reigned as WWE Women’s Champion for almost the entirety of 2025, but it seems as though her days with the title are numbered.

With Jade Cargill likely our next WWE Women’s Champion, and a natural match with Bianca Belair likely waiting for her, there are questions about what would be next for Tiffany.

Well, WWE may have already let us know, and fans of Tiffany won’t have to wait long for her to return to championship action, as she has already started having issues with United States Champion Giulia.

With Tiffany occupied in WWE Women’s Championship scenarios for the remainder of the year, and then likely the Royal Rumble, we are likely looking to Vegas for Giulia vs. Tiffany.

Liv Morgan & Dominik Mysterio vs. Finn Balor & Roxanne Perez

WWE's Judgment Day: Roxanne Perez, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Roxanne Perez, Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio

Tensions within the Judgment Day seem almost never-ending at this point, and it seems that Liv Morgan’s unfortunate injury has put a lot of plans for the group on hold for a good portion of the year.

However, with Liv reportedly expected back in early 2026, a Royal Rumble return for her would make the most sense, which is when the Judgment Day civil war storyline will pick back up again.

Finn Balor was the one to bring Roxanne Perez into the group, and if the group is to splinter apart, she will likely remain on the side of he and JD McDonagh.

Which leaves a newly babyface Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio to oppose the pair at WrestleMania.

Women’s Tag Team Championship Ladder Match – Kabuki Warriors (c) vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Stephanie Vaquer & Nikki Bella vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria vs. Nia Jax & Lash Legend

The Women’s Tag Team Championship scene is taking more of a front row seat in the company right now coming off the Raw main event with Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair defending the titles against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.

Nia Jax is also seemingly set to start a program with Charlotte and Alexa, with reports having her and NXT’s Lash Legend slated for the Women’s War Games match at Survivor Series next month.

The Kabuki Warriors have also entered the fray, as well as a new alliance brewing between WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella and Stephanie Vaquer.

With a lot of combustible elements in the division, a big multi-team Ladder match akin to the men’s match from WrestleMania 40, or the TLC match from SummerSlam this year, would be a great showcase for what will hopefully be a thriving division.

Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho

With 2025 winding down, and still no sign of Chris Jericho on AEW television, it seems more and more likely that his time in the company may indeed be over.

Chris Jericho returning to WWE after 7 years away, and after being one of the early top stars of the competition, will be WWE’s first big ‘moment’ of 2026.

As for WrestleMania; there are many options on the roster that Jericho has yet to face in his career, but one man likely free for him at the show is Sami Zayn.

Sami being trusted as the first person to wrestle Jericho upon his return to the company seems like a safe bet to get Sami featured on the show.

AJ Styles vs. Dragon Lee

WWE stars Dragon Lee and AJ Styles

AJ Styles has continued to remind us that time is cruel and life is painful, with him continuing to note that he plans to retire from in-ring competition in 2026.

AJ’s contract with WWE is reportedly set to expire in February, but it’s hard to imagine a scenario where WWE doesn’t give him an extension at least through WrestleMania.

AJ is currently World Tag Team Champions with Dragon Lee on Raw, with their alliance likely leading to a match between them, where AJ puts Dragon over on his way out.

There likely won’t be a turn involved, just one mentor putting over his protegee on the big stage.
