2025 saw GUNTHER put his name in the WWE history books by being the man to defeat both John Cena and Goldberg in their final matches.

Then at WWE Royal Rumble 2026, ‘The Ring General’ defeated AJ Styles to retire him from the company.

The former World Heavyweight Champion could continue his ‘Career Killer’ gimmick by retiring even more stars on the WWE roster right now.

Here are seven more WWE stars who could be retired by GUNTHER.

7. Shinsuke Nakamura

At the January 24 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, AJ Styles defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in what was billed as their final encounter.

At 45 years old, ‘The King of Strong Style’ is someone who could be in the latter stages of his legendary career.

Nakamura clearly has more years behind him than ahead of him and could be winding down his in-ring run in pro wrestling.

With his friendship outside of the ring with AJ Styles, it would make sense for Nakamura to go after GUNTHER, leading to the former NJPW star following in the footsteps of ‘The Phenomenal One’ sooner rather than later.

On the December 29 episode of Monday Night Raw, GUNTHER defeated R-Truth.

Stepping up for his favorite wrestler John Cena, Truth stood up against ‘The Ring General’ and got beaten down because of it.

While they have faced recently, Truth could step up once again to face GUNTHER after his dispatching of AJ Styles.

GUNTHER retiring Truth would be a fitting way for his WWE run to finally conclude in a similar fashion to his hero Cena.

GUNTHER and Brock Lesnar in WWE

Since having a staredown and confrontation in the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble match, fans have been speculating and wondering when Brock Lesnar could go one-on-one with GUNTHER.

Ahead of WWE Royal Rumble 2026, speculatio nstarted to circulate whether Lesnar could potentially face off with GUNTHER at WrestleMania 42 this April.

However, Lesnar and GUNTHER did not interact during the matchup and now it seems like they will not be having a singles match at ‘The Show of Shows.’

At 48 years old, Lesnar feels like he is at the tailend of his career, so a huge showdown with GUNTHER potentially at WWE SummerSlam 2026 in his hometown of Minneapolis could finally be the end of his legendary career.

During his legendary run as Intercontinental Champion, GUNTHER was challenged by a who’s who of WWE stars, including Rey Mysterio.

At age 51, Mysterio could be finishing up his WWE career with a retirement tour over the next year or two.

Considering GUNTHER becoming ‘The Career Killer’ with his wins over John Cena, Goldberg and AJ Styles, it would make sense if he faces Mysterio next.

While many believe Rey could face his son Dominik Mysterio in his final match, it just might be GUNTHER who puts an end to the greatest luchador’s illustrious career.

3. Sheamus

GUNTHER has feuded with a number of noteworthy names on the WWE roster since arriving in the company back in 2019.

However, there might not be anyone who has had a more memorable series of matches with ‘The Ring General’ than Sheamus.

From their epic encounter at WWE Clash At The Castle 2022 to waging war with Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 39, the bouts that Sheamus and GUNTHER have had will go down as some of the best in the company’s history.

GUNTHER being the one to retire Sheamus would make for a compelling battle that could make for an appropriate end to his career.

2. Randy Orton

Ever since his wins over John Cena and Goldberg, GUNTHER has become known as ‘The Career Killer.’

The two-time World Heavyweight Champion added yet another legend to his list of vanquished iconic names with AJ Styles at WWE Royal Rumble 2026.

With the moniker of ‘The Career Killer,’ there are obvious parallels to be made to the man who became known as ‘The Legend Killer’ in Randy Orton.

GUNTHER facing and retiring Orton could be the perfect way to close the book on the career of ‘The Viper’ sometime down the road.

1. CM Punk

After a near-10 year absence from WWE, CM Punk finally made his return to the company at Survivor Series 2023.

Since then, Punk has reestablished himself as one of the biggest stars in all of WWE today and is the current World Heavyweight Champion.

Back at WWE SummerSlam 2025, Punk defeated GUNTHER to become the World Heavyweight Champion for the first time in 12 years.

To get his revenge for this rare loss, GUNTHER could be the one to finally put an end to Punk by retiring him once and for all.
