On the March 2 episode of Monday Night Raw, Penta defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Now that Penta has captured his first title in WWE, it feels like the entire championship scene has been changed and anyone could step up next to win the gold.
Looking at the WWE Raw roster, there are a number of stars who could be next in line to win the IC Title after the former AEW star.
Here are eight potential next WWE Intercontinental Champions after Penta.
8. Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio is a two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion and has beaten a litany of different stars, such as AJ Styles, Rusev and John Cena.
The Judgment Day member has been a consistent factor in the IC Title picture over the past year.
Establishing himself as one of the fastest rising stars in WWE today, Mysterio has used these IC Title reigns to firmly cement his place in the company.
‘Dirty Dom’ regaining the Intercontinental Championship seems almost likely based on how often he has been involved in the title picture over the past year.

7. The Original El Grande Americano

Making his WWE debut in early 2025, The Original El Grande Americano quickly made a name for himself in the promotion.
However, The Original El Grande was sidelined with an injury and in his place debuted another version of the character.
Then at WWE Royal Rumble 2026, The Original El Grande made his return as an entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match.
After making his intention known that he wants to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship, The Original El Grande could be the one to dethrone Penta and win his first title in the company as well.

6. El Grande Americano

While The Original El Grande Americano has made his presence felt since making his return, it has mostly been at the expense of the current El Grande Americano.
Whether it be in WWE or Lucha Libre AAA, Americano has been a consistent act all across the world.
Americano is no stranger to Penta and has faced him on several occasions, so it feels like he might just become a top contender for the Intercontinental Championship now that Penta has captured the title.
Wanting revenge for his recent loss to Penta, El Grande could use the help of Los Americanos to help him win the IC Title sooner rather than later.

5. Je’Von Evans

On the February 16 edition of Monday Night Raw, Je’Von Evans defeated Dominik Mysterio and GUNTHER to qualify for the men’s Elimination Chamber.
Despite a few standout moments, Evans came up short at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 and was not able to become the number one contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.
‘The Young OG’ has become one of the breakout stars who got called up to the main roster at the tail end of 2025 and looks destined to win championship gold.
After staking his claim for the winner of the Penta vs. Dominik Mysterio title bout, Evans has everything it takes to become one of the youngest Intercontinental Champions in WWE history.

4. LA Knight

LA Knight has clearly been one of the most popular stars on the WWE Raw roster today.
While he has been chasing the world championship for several years, Knight is also a two-time United States Champion.
Despite being in WWE for the past five years, Knight could add more titles to his resumé on the road to finally becoming a world champion.
Following his most recent win over both Austin Theory and Penta to qualify for the men’s Elimination Chamber, ‘The Megastar’ could find himself in line for an opportunity to become Intercontinental Champion for the first time.

3. Finn Balor

Many fans have speculated and wondered if Finn Balor would target the WWE Intercontinental Championship for months.
Back at WrestleMania 41, Dominik Mysterio pinned his Judgment Day stablemate in a four-way match with Bron Breakker and Penta to become the new IC Champion.
Ever since then, Balor has had growing tension with Mysterio, which led to him stopping JD McDonagh from helping ‘Dirty Dom’ during his Intercontinental Championship match against Penta.
After being involved in the reason why Mysterio lost the gold, it would add another layer to the IC Title picture if Balor captured the championship from Penta and eventually defended against Mysterio at WrestleMania 42.

2. Logan Paul

Back in November 2025, Logan Paul joined The Vision ahead of teaming with the group, Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar to defeat CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, The Usos and Roman Reigns in the men’s WarGames at Survivor Series.
Following the victory, Paul let it be known that he would like to challenge for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Getting distracted with The Vision’s different rivals, Paul has not been in active contention for the IC Title in recent months.
Logan Paul dethroning Penta for the Intercontinental Championship would help to put a bigger spotlight on The Vision and allow them to resume their role as the top faction on WWE Raw.

1. Oba Femi

At WWE Royal Rumble 2026, Oba Femi was the #1 entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match.
After a dominant performance that saw him eliminate five competitors in succession, Femi is looking to continue his success from his WWE NXT run on either Raw or SmackDown.
Now a highly sought after free agent, ‘The Ruler’ feels like someone who will not have to wait long before capturing championship gold.
Femi eventually being the one to dethrone Penta for the Intercontinental Championship could be the start of the former NXT Champion establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
