New WWE Tag Teams To Form At WrestleMania 42

WWE has assembled a stacked card for this year’s WrestleMania 42 two-night premium live event.

While there will be plenty of in-ring battles, fans could also see new alliances and tag teams being formed at ‘The Showcase of the Immortals.’

From former rivals coming together to old partners reuniting, these new duos could dominate the rest of the year in several different ways.

Here are six new tag teams to potentially form at WWE WrestleMania 42..

6. Tiffany Stratton & Chelsea Green

On the road to WrestleMania 42, Tiffany Stratton has set her sights on the WWE Women’s United States Championship.

Facing Giulia in a non-title match on the March 27 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Stratton came up short in this bout, hurting her chances at getting another shot.

While ‘The Beautiful Madness’ has Kiana James by her side, Chelsea Green has been trying to convince Stratton to join forces to get her the gold.

In a digital exclusive, Stratton seemed interested in taking up the offer made by Green, which could lead to these two former champions uniting to take down Giulia at Mania.

5. Carmelo Hayes & Ilja Dragunov

Over the past few months, Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov have had several battles over the United States Championship.

Most recently, Hayes defeated Dragunov to retain the US Title on the March 20 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

While they have had a competitive rivalry, Hayes and Dragunov have also displayed a friendship and mutual respect that has seen them teaming together in the past.

Wanting to get their way on the WrestleMania 42 card after dropping the US gold, Melo could form a permanent tag team with Ilja to go after the WWE Tag Team Championships at ‘The Show of Shows.’

4. Je’Von Evans & Kofi Kingston

In recent weeks, fans have seen Kofi Kingston trying to provide some guidance to Je’Von Evans in his career.

Seeing a lot of himself in ‘The Young OG,’ The New Day member has seen that Evans has a bright future and wants to help him along the way.

Kingston is a veteran who is a former WWE Champion and multi-time Tag Team Champion that could guide Evans straight to the top of the company.

Evans joining forces with Kingston in the absence of Xavier Woods could see these two recapturing the magic of The New Day following the WrestleMania 42 premium live event.

3. Drew McIntyre & Sheamus

Over the past few months, Drew McIntyre has found himself becoming ‘public enemy number one’ in the WWE.

Whether it be Cody Rhodes, Nick Aldis or Jacob Fatu, McIntyre has become someone who has gotten under the skin of so many different stars on the WWE roster.

Throughout his career, ‘The Scottish Warrior’ hasn’t made a lot of friends, but someone who is closest to him is Sheamus.

While he has been sidelined with a serious shoulder injury, Sheamus could align with McIntyre and help him in his Unsanctioned Match against Fatu at WrestleMania 42 to reform their duo together.

2. Rhea Ripley & Bianca Belair

On the March 20 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Jade Cargill joined forces with Michin and B-Fab to beat down Rhea Ripley.

With Ripley set to face Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42, “Mami” needs some help to counteract the numbers advantage.

This led to Rhea calling on IYO SKY to have her back against Cargill, Michin and B-Fab on the April 3 SmackDown.

Still needing to even the odds, Ripley could call upon her former rival and Jade’s former tag team partner Bianca Belair to be her ally in helping fend off this new heel trio on SmackDown at ‘The Show of Shows’ in Las Vegas.

1. Cody Rhodes & Jelly Roll

On the March 27 edition of WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes made his return to the company and went right after Randy Orton following his betrayal and bloody beatdown weeks earlier.

Looking to separate his two friends, country music star Jelly Roll tried to talk some sense to both Rhodes and Orton in an effort to get them to stop this brawl.

However, Orton showcased how far he’s fallen and laid out his former tag team partner Jelly with an RKO that closed the broadcast.

Now that Orton has aligned with Pat McAfee, Cody could call upon Jelly Roll to even the odds against him heading into his Undisputed WWE Championship showdown at WrestleMania 42.
