WWE’s tag team division — across all brands — is not currently being given much emphasis – historically, WWE has never been a promotion that has prioritised tag team wrestling.
That said, the company still has several talented duos under contract, including Fraxion, The Motor City Machine Guns, DIY, Los Garza, The War Raiders and The New Day.
However, there are also plenty of standout teams outside the company who could help inject new life and into WWE’s tag ranks.
Here are seven potential new WWE tag team signings to debut soon.
7. Private Party

Private Party have not been seen on AEW programming since January, when they lost the AEW Tag Team Championships to The Hurt Syndicate.
Their absence throughout the year has fuelled speculation that the duo could be on their way out of the company once their contracts expire.
There appears to be some truth to the rumours, with it being reported throughout the year that WWE has interest in signing the team.
The stumbling block, however, remains their contract situations — Fightful Select recently noted that Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen’s deals may not expire at the same time. Still, once they do become free agents, it’s a safe bet we’ll see them appear on NXT programming soon after.

6. Sinner and Saint

Sinner and Saint are arguably the most exciting tag team on TNA’s roster; admittedly, you’d be forgiven for not knowing it — the duo have featured sporadically for the promotion this year, with their last match coming at the end of September.
To truly appreciate their chemistry, fluidity, and inventive tag-team offence, you only need to look at their work on the indies.
The Canadian pair are regulars for high-profile promotions such as Deadlock Pro Wrestling, Freelance Wrestling, and DEFY — where they currently reign as tag team champions.
One of pro wrestling’s best young duos, could we see WWE look to bring them in?

5. Bustah and The Brain

On the subject of young tag teams killing it on the indies, another standout duo is Bustah and The Brain.
The team of Jordan Oliver and Alec Price are the current GCW Tag Team Champions, having defended independent wrestling’s most high-profile tag titles in a string of standout bouts since capturing them in April.
Both men rank among the most impressive young performers on the independent scene – Price’s spectacular and unique aerial offence really has to be seen to be believed – and since forming earlier this year, they’ve quickly proven themselves to be an excellent team. .
Oliver recently appeared on the last ROH pay-per-view, so if WWE wants to secure the team, they may need to move fast before the competition does.

4. The Righteous

The Righteous left AEW/ROH earlier this year after the team of Vincent and Dutch requested their releases.
A talented pairing, they never received a consistent push during their two-year tenure with the company.
However, WWE has reportedly shown interest in the duo — with Fightful reporting in September that they had informed independent promoters they were finishing up their dates, with the belief being that they were WWE-bound.
While their signing has yet to be officially confirmed, could we soon see The Righteous appear on NXT?

3. The Hardy Boyz

The Hardys made their latest return to WWE in September, appearing on NXT programming.
At Halloween Havoc, where they dropped the NXT Tag Team Titles they’d recently won, the ageing daredevil duo appeared to defy Father Time — rewinding the clock back to the early days of the 2000s, with Jeff once again taking crazy bumps off ladders in a wild Broken Rules match.
Not only can the brothers still go in the ring, but they remain hugely popular with the WWE audience.
It feels like only a matter of time before The Hardys return to the main roster for one final run in the company.

2. Jeri-Show

It is very much expected that Chris Jericho will leave AEW and return to WWE at the start of 2026.
Less is known about ‘Big Show’ Paul Wight’s AEW contract status.
However, Jericho and Show seem to have some kind of desire to work together as a callback to when they were Unified WWE Tag Team Champions, as they reunited for a match on Jericho’s cruise in 2024.
If Jericho does indeed return to WWE, perhaps Big Show would join him, which would bring two guaranteed Hall of Famers back to the company.

1. Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater

The WWE NXT and TNA crossovers have brought about an exciting new partnership in Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater.
While Evans is of course currently signed to NXT, Slater is not, as he is X-Division Champion and still contracted to TNA.
However, he seems to be the latest on the list of TNA stars that WWE has an interest in recruiting, which means this team could become full-time in WWE whenever he’s available.
