New WWE Tag Team Signings Coming Soon

2025 has been a mixed bag for WWE when it comes to their Raw, SmackDown and NXT tag team divisions.

The Women’s Tag Team Titles scene is currently flourishing, with top stars such as Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY and Charlotte Flair all after The Kabuki Warriors’ gold heading into the new year.

Contrarily, the men’s tag team division has seen an inconsistent level of attention from WWE’s creative team. SmackDown was a hot spot for tag team wrestling for much of the year but has tailed off in recent months, while Raw’s spent much of the year doing very little, only for things to pick up in a major way towards the end of the year following AJ Styles & Dragon Lee’s World Tag Team Titles win.

With plenty of reasons to be hopeful for more improvement and creative focus in 2026, it’s time to look at what new teams could potentially join the roster in the coming weeks and months.

Here are five potential new WWE tag teams arriving soon.

5. Private Party

Easily the team most linked with a move to WWE in 2025 has been Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen of Private Party.

This time last year, Zay & Quen were the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions – their first time with the gold after five years of trying to reach that goal.

However, on the January 22 episode of AEW Dynamite their 84 day run as champions came to an abrupt end, as they were dethroned by The Hurt Syndicate’s Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin.

Since then Private Party have not been seen on AEW programming at all, with it being reported that their AEW deals are nearing their expiry.

While there’s always a chance they could re-emerge on Dynamite or Collision, it certainly seems more likely that the pair debut on NXT, SmackDown or Raw in 2026.

4. The Gunns

AEW stars Austin & Colten Gunn

Unlike Private Party, Austin & Colten Gunn did actually make their return to AEW programming after a prolonged absence for much of this year, however, it was sadly short-lived.

After The Gunns returned, along with fellow Bang Bang Gang member Juice Robinson at AEW All In Texas, Colten sadly suffered an injury in his first match back.

While fans will hope that The Gunns (and Bang Bang Gang as a whole) can regain some momentum in 2026, there is also always the possibility that Billy Gunn’s two sons could seek a new challenge at some point.

Given Billy’s close friendship with Triple H, Road Dogg and Shawn Michaels, and The Gunns’ young age, it seems possible that they could make the move to WWE at some point down the line, whenever it is that their contracts are up.

3. Hit Row

AJ Francis is a notable name who could potentially enter free agency in 2026 – as his TNA contract is reportedly expiring.

This is much the same situation as this time last year, and then Francis agreed to new terms with the company, so there’s a good possibility the same could happen once again.

However, with former Hit Row tag team partner Ashante “Thee” Adonis now a free agent following his WWE departure, perhaps the pair can link up again for their next move?

While a WWE return for Adonis seems somewhat unlikely given how soon he departed, perhaps being paired with Francis could open up the potential for a NXT return in 2026, even if it is only a brief spell as part of the WWE & TNA partnership.

2. The IInspiration

Much like AJ Francis, The IInspirtation’s Jess McKay & Cassie Lee’s futures in TNA are somewhat up in the air heading into 2026.

Considering Lee and McKay won the TNA Knockout’s Tag Team Championships at a time when it was being reported that their deals were up, it seems likelier that the Australian pair will remain with TNA rather than seek an exit.

However, considering that WWE was where they originally made their names, a return for one last run also can’t be ruled out either.

Getting the chance to mix it up with some of the best women’s tag teams in the business right now, Lee and McKay could make for an IIconic new addition to WWE NXT, Raw or SmackDown.

1. The Hardy Boyz

After over two decades competing together across WWE, TNA, AEW and the independent scene, The Hardy Boyz look like they could potentially be set for the final chapter of their pro wrestling journey.

Much like The IInspiration, Mustafa Ali, Matt Cardona and many others, the WWE and TNA partnership has allowed Matt & Jeff Hardy to make a return to WWE in 2025, albeit only for sporadic appearances rather than signing a contract.

However, with The Hardys speaking openly about their desire to end their careers in WWE, 2026 could be the year that they pen their final contract with the company.

With their TNA deals reportedly up soon, next year could see not only one more run for Matt & Jeff, but also a well earned spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.
