There have been several different mixed tag teams that have been featured on WWE television over the past year.

From Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch to CM Punk and AJ Lee, these mixed tag teams have been given the spotlight over and over again on the company’s programming.

In the weeks and months to come, WWE could create some new mixed tag teams with established couples or longtime friends moving forward.

Here are seven new potential WWE mixed tag teams.

7. Matt Cardona & Chelsea Green

On the January 2 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Matt Cardona made his return to WWE after a near-six year absence.

Cardona joined the SmackDown brand, which saw him on the same show as his wife Chelsea Green.

While Green has been paired up with Ethan Page and captured the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship, fans have not seen these two Canadians teaming on WWE main roster television.

Green forming a new mixed tag team with her husband Cardona would be intriguing and help both stars to have a bigger spot on the SmackDown roster.

6. Carmelo Hayes & Kelani Jordan

To start 2026, Carmelo Hayes has been solidifying himself as a rising star on Friday Night SmackDown.

As United States Champion, Hayes has become one of the most popular babyfaces on the SmackDown brand with his open challenges.

Meanwhile, Melo’s girlfriend Kelani Jordan has been climbing the ladder on WWE NXT and recently underwent a heel turn that has seen her showing off more aggression as of late.

Hayes and Jordan could form a new mixed tag team that might open the door for the former NXT Women’s North American Champion to make her debut on the main roster.

5. Trick Williams & Lash Legend

On the February 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, The Irresistible Forces defeated RHIYO to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Nia Jax and Lash Legend have become a dominant force together in a major way in the women’s tag team division.

Lash’s fiancé Trick Williams has become one of the most popular stars on the SmackDown brand and usually garners one of the biggest crowd reactions from the fans.

Legend teaming with Trick would allow the two stars to further grow and rise up the ranks even faster than they have already.

4. Sheamus & Lyra Valkyria

Sheamus is someone who opened the door for several Irish wrestlers to join the WWE roster over the years.

One of those Irish stars was none other than Lyra Valkyria, who made history by becoming the inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

Having one of the oldest Irish stars in Sheamus teaming with one of the newest in Lyra would be intriguing to see two different generations coming together.

Sheamus and Valkyria could bring a hard hitting style that would overwhelm any other pairing that they come against inside the squared circle.

3. Rey Mysterio & Stephanie Vaquer

In 2024, Stephanie Vaquer signed with WWE and quickly became one of the fastest rising stars in the company’s history.

After signing with the promotion, Vaquer stated that one of her inspirations to become a wrestler was WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.

Considering Mysterio’s legendary status, it feels like a no-brainer that Vaquer would choose the luchador if she had to form a mixed tag team in WWE.

Mysterio working alongside the reigning WWE Women’s World Champion could go a long way to extend his career and give her the rub to become a bigger star long after his days in the ring are over.

2. Bron Breakker & Tiffany Stratton

WWE NXT has seen several stars coming up to the main roster and becoming major names on either Raw or SmackDown.

Over the past two years, Tiffany Stratton got called up to the main roster, won the Money In The Bank Ladder Match and went on to become the WWE Women’s Champion.

Meanwhile, Bron Breakker has taken WWE by storm, is a two-time Intercontinental Champion and established himself as one of the biggest heels on the roster as a member of The Vision.

With both stars debuting around the same time on NXT 2.0, it would make sense to pair up Stratton and Breakker together as a mixed tag team in WWE moving forward.

1. Cody Rhodes & Jade Cargill

WWE Champions Jade Cargill, CM Punk, Ricky Saints and Cody Rhodes

When she made her debut in All Elite Wrestling, Jade Cargill immediately confronted Cody Rhodes, which led to a huge mixed tag team match.

Cargill went on to team with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal to defeat Rhodes and Red Velvet on an episode of AEW Dynamite in March 2021.

In real life, Cargill and Rhodes formed a strong friendship that saw Cody guide the reigning WWE Women’s Champion in her professional wrestling career.

Rhodes and Cargill forming a mixed tag team would easily become the biggest and potentially the most dominant in all of WWE today in short order.
