New WWE Hall Of Fame 2026 Tag Team Inductees

As we begin a new year in 2026, we only know of one new inductee into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class: Stephanie McMahon.

With recent years typically reserving at least one spot for a tag team induction, there are many famous tandems who could finally get overdue inductions via this year’s class.

Here are six potential new WWE Hall of Fame 2026 tag team inductees.

6. The Hardy Boyz

Of all tag teams yet to receive a WWE Hall of Fame induction, it’s difficult to argue that Matt and Jeff Hardy aren’t the most glaring omission.

Given that they are still active, it’s not too surprising that they haven’t received their Hall of Fame rings however, especially considering they both spent time in AEW before returning to TNA in 2024.

With WWE and TNA enjoying a fruitful partnership currently – one that allowed The Hardys to return to a WWE ring via NXT in 2025 – it feels inevitable that a Hall of Fame induction is coming.

While it may perhaps wait until they wrap up their time with TNA and re-sign with WWE for one last run, expect Matt and Jeff to take their spots in the WWE Hall of Fame within the next few years.

5. New Age Outlaws

WWE legends Billy Gunn and Road Dogg

Sticking with legendary Attitude Era tandems, the New Age Outlaws are another big omission from the WWE Hall of Fame.

While both Road Dogg and Billy Gunn do indeed have WWE Hall of Fame rings already via D-Generation X’s induction back in 2019, they are deserving of a nod of their own for their tag team efforts.

While they were only fully active as a team between 1997 and 2000 (albeit with a brief split in 1999), the pair were massively over with the audience, with Road Dogg’s charismatic delivery on the microphone helping make for one of the era’s most well remembered entrances.

The pair would continue to team in TNA Wrestling in the 2000s before later reforming in WWE for a final run together in 2013-2014. While Billy Gunn is under AEW contract, her is under a WWE merchandising contract so perhaps some kind of one-off appearance deal can be negotiated.

4. Demolition (Ax & Smash)

Long holding the record for the longest single WWE Tag Team Championship reign until The New Day broke it in 2016, Ax & Smash are massive absentees from the WWE Hall of Fame.

While on the surface their omission is puzzling, Ax (Bill Eadie) and Smash (Barry Darsow) have a checkered past with WWE following their exit from the company in 1991.

The pair were long at odds legally, including a dispute over the rights to their names and a CTE lawsuit. However, Eadie and Darsow signed WWE legends contracts with the company in early 2025, something that has now seemingly opened the door for a potential Hall of Fame induction.

Last year it was reported that Ax and Smash were under consideration for a Hall of Fame nod ahead of WrestleMania 41 but that did not come to fruition, but perhaps WWE will actually pull the trigger in 2026.

3. The Nasty Boys

Arriving in WWE in late 1990 following spells in AWA, Florida Championship Wrestling and WCW, Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags fast became one of the most dastardly and despicable heels in the company.

Managed by the equally brash “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, it only took The Nasty Boys little over three months to reach the mountaintop of the WWE tag team division, winning the WWE World Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 7 by defeating The Hart Foundation.

While this was their only WWE Tag Team Title run, they held the gold until SummerSlam 1991, and would go on to become three-time WCW Tag Team Champions after departing WWE in 1993.

Certainly a big tag team omission from the WWE Hall of Fame, Knobbs and Sags should receive a spot in this year’s class.

2. APA

While both John Bradshaw Layfield and Ron Simmons have been inducted separately into the WWE Hall of Fame, they are another example of a pair that also deserve a second spot as tandem.

The APA (Acolytes Protection Agency) were not only one of WWE’s most formidable and hard-hitting duos, but also one of its most entertaining, with the backstage segments in the Faarooq and Bradshaw’s ‘office’ always providing a laugh and got more of the Attitude Era’s colourful cast of characters involved in the comedy.

Across their six years as a team on WWE TV, Faarooq and Bradshaw won the WWE World Tag Team Titles on three occasions.

As was often the case in the Attitude Era, all of these three reigns were short-lived, but the pair always had a presence on TV even without gold.

1. Brothers Of Destruction

WWE's Undertaker and Kane of the Brothers of Destruction

The only team on this list that can both call themselves former WWE World Champions, The Undertaker and Kane are easily two of the company’s all-time greatest big men in their own right.

When they came together as the Brothers of Destruction however, their dominance reached new heights. While they would first team together in 1998 and sporadically do so throughout their two decades working alongside each other, it was 2000-2001 where the pair officially became known as the Brothers of Destruction.

Running roughshod over the division, Taker and Kane won the company’s WWE World Tag Team Titles on two occasions in 2001, as well as the WCW Tag Team Titles that same year.

Given their legendary status in WWE, few would grumble at seeing Undertaker and Kane receiving one more Hall of Fame ring each in 2026.
